Man!! That looks good!!
More info on your process please. Just got through eating some fried. Also like them blackened in a cast iron skillet. Never had them smoked.
Those are beautiful, Scott. If they eat half as good as they look, it must have been a heck of a meal.
Yum!!!!!
Nice, very nice! You must have had a cool fire going on.
Those look great!!!!
Smoked Crappie Filets
Large crappie filets (8 to 10)
Non-stick foil
Olive oil
Creole seasoning or Lemon Pepper
Soaked hickory chips
Light charcoal grill and let coals turn white. Cover cooking grate with non-stick foil. Coat filets with olive oil. Arrange on foil and sprinkle with seasoning. Put wood chips on the hot coals, place cooking grid onto grill, close lid on grill and smoke for 8 minutes.
Nice looking fillets! Bet they were fine.
Yum
Scott those look great, my youngest daughter loves them better than fried. I been wanting to do some in that Masterbuilt, do them like the yanks do the salmon
I had the smoked catfish filet at the Hard Rock Cafe in New Orleans one time and it was delicious. But danged if this ain't better. I want to try them on the Masterbuilt also. They say around 230 degrees for about 1 1/2 hrs on a chart I've got.
