Blow baby blow
Oh it blew all day long. We caught a bunch....of wind. Nobody I talked with did very good except for an old distingushed looking gentleman who had limits at the EP cleaning station.
That is what I have heard as well, hard day with the wind and it is going to be bad tomorrow
Wind is just part of it, sux too but if you gonna fish this time of year you learn to deal with it. Hope they bite early in the morning.
Y'all must have been in the wrong spot. The Abbeville locals were pulling them out like crazy all weekend. This damage was done by two of them this morning.

Caught my limit in 2 hours lol. Hell I like the wind , helps make all them big boats make lots of noise.
Spawn is almost over btw.
Hah.. Spawn ain't no where near over.
Had limit by 8-830 fri sat sun. Crazy fast this year.
Ya'll lie like a rug,,,, lol ain't no fish in Sardis...
spoke to lots of people this weekend, went to waterway Saturday am caught 9, sardis after lunch at clear creek caught 6, gums crossing sunday morning till 1:30, caught 3, saw very few fish being caught anywhere..just my 2 cents
Got my limits this weekend as well, but the wind was howling and you either had to wade or just hang on. If we get much rain, the game changes big time. Fish were laying eggs and the eggs were running out of them. Have no idea where the spawn is in the process, but lots of fish put eggs in the nest this weekend. Whoever put themChristmas trees out on the road to the Indian Mound made a bunch of waders and one man boats really happy this weekend.
If you know the lake they can be caught. But if you follow people around all day, all you will get is second best.We did very well this weekend but people find your own fish, that's how you limit out.
We were a few shy of a two man limit Saturday wind wasn't near as bad as Friday
We caught a few in the wind. Had my buddies ArkansasBowHunter, and Nimrod over this weekend. They are regulars on the AR board.

Good Job BRM! I practically grew up on Sardis and it can be a booger bear with the wind, real quick too.
Sardis was on FIRE this weekend. They were dumping eggs like crazy. I could drive up in my truck and watch them on the waters edge. 10' from the front bumper.
Hotrod I've gotta ask what are your intentions? Not trying to start anything.
Just passing info on the spawn. No intentions. There's over 200 miles of shoreline that them fish are working. And only about 1/4 mile gets worked over when the level and spawn hits the exact time. That's because grandma can drive her car there and get her limit. Glad those folks got to catch some fish this weekend. That spot is over after rain runoff arives no more driving out there.
Well, those boys had them a good time out next to the road to the Indian Mound this weekend. I agree with this rain that spot will be toast. I hear that today somebody went through that area in an air boat and took all their hats off at one time.
I agree with Takem. There ain't no fish at Sardis anymore. Y'all should stop short at Reelfoot or Arkabutla.
Hey.. Ain't no fish in arkabutla anymore.. Y'all know that.. Nothing to see there.. Move along.
Sardis was unreal Saturday. Had a 2 man limit in 2 hours. 4 foot of water down to 18" of water. They are doing it!!
You boys better all get up there and get em while the gettings good. Breaks my heart the spawn will be over before long :-)
I'm glad that spawn is about over with. Personally, I don't like to catch the spawning males since they're so important for a good spawn. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if they closed the lakes to fishing during the spawn.
I like catching them shallow, but I agree we need to protect this great fishing experience for future generations.
I could say the same thing about trollers snatching them out of there staging zones there's no difference. Yanking them in at 8' of water or yanking them in 8" of water. The difference is water depth that's it. Can't wade in 8' and you can't troll in 8". They should lower the pole limit to 2 each and and raise the length back to 12". That's my opinion and I troll.
^^ I agree but I'd make it single pole from January 1st till May 1st, then 4 poles per person. Defiantly go back to 12".
Wanting to know a little basic info on Sardis. Like launch areas, what part of lake for casting jigs. Would really appreciate any advice in general about the lake. Thanks Petercreek.
There's a big difference. It's mostly males being caught by the waders in the shallows and mostly females being caught by the trollers out deeper. I've always believed that preserving the males is more important than preserving the females if you want a good spawn. If the males are eliminated there's no protection for the eggs and the fry that hatch. A single large female crappie can lay about 30,000 eggs, I believe.
Catchemdeep, u are way off path. How long u think it takes those eggs to hatch? Do u think all the females in the lake run in and spawn at the same time leaving the males with more work than they can handle? The answer is no. And there are actually alot more male fish than female fish. It only takes 2 to 3 days for these eggs to hatch and not all the females will be dropping at the same time. There will always be male fish to protect these eggs. It's the female fish that u should be worried about.
Beginning spawn more males shallow during spawn more females shallow tail end more males. Like I said earlier with over 200 miles of shoreline they got nothing to worry about.
I fished the same area Sunday and yesterday. I limited out both days. Yesterday was a little tougher but all the fish that I cleaned were females. They were in all different stages of spawning. Some looked like they had spawned and some looked like they had a tennis ball in their stomach. I think a BIG problem is people DOUBLE DIPPIN.
Don't really think Sardis can be hurt.Crappie should be thinned down or over population will happen. But I don't think people should post that you can come to Sardis and catch limit with no problem. The ramps are crowded enough.
Let em come. I will walk around there boats and yank em out. Most people out there sit in one spot. I don't see most of em anyway. Iam out of there before you know it.
