painter ramp patoka lake

Gf and I decided to go fishing for a Lil bit this evening. Didn't get to the ramp til 7:45pm. After a while I landed this baby. Roughly 4-5lbs.. My first big bass ever. Very thrill. Gf caught 2 tiny stripe bass bout 3in long. Threw it back. End up leaving around 8:45pm. Caught the big boy in the. Road runner jig. Didn't even know it was hooked. Thought the jig were caught on rock. Gfwas using nightcrawler as bait. Water was high but still kinda chilly. Don't mind the glove. I hate nightcrawler guts.. Wanting to go back Sunday morning. Was fishing for crappie. Never seem to catch any.

Very nice!!! Fished my whole life at Patoka and have yet to hook a Largemouth that big.

Must be pure luck on my part tonight. Now I know why so many people like to fish for largemouth. Boy, the put up a nice fight.

Bass Clubs fishing Patoka that launch from Painter release all their bass there too. Gives you a chance at catching nice bass out of Painter Creek area.

We, well my gf, cleaned and gutted the fish this evening. Found it have roe. Female.

they are good eating this time of year but your making bass anglers cry good luck in the future keep fishing

Went back Saturday night. Same spot and caught another bass but this one is bout 1lb.. Still fun though. Can't believe I caught it on the 1/8oz Road runner jig .. Twice. Still no crappie though.
