Sparky405, you sure those weren't Wipers (Hybrids) Arcadia is full of them and they will eat crappie gear up. The last one I landed while crappie fishing there it pulled so much line off the reel I had to chase it down with my trolling motor. They are a lot of fun to catch.
sounds like a hybrid
I looked at the fish identification chart it was Hybrid
They were very strong
I fished there again all day today and caught two blue catfish while fishing for crappie fished deep and shallow
Went to arcadia Thursday morning caught 3 13in and two 10 in they're slowly making their way to the bank lost two good ones
That's not bad . how deep were you fishing and which side of the lake
X2 - what Sparky said.
About 2 ft deep. 15st areaQuote:

You guys think Sunday morning would be a good day to hit Arcadia. Are they spawning right now? I haven't been to Arcadia in a year or so. 😳
Does anybody know about the annual passes? Do you have to purchase an annual car pass along with your boat pass or can you just purchase the boat pass? I hope it's not both because then I'm looking at $160!!!:yikes
You are looking at $160, I think. That why I do not fish Arcadia
$160 is about what I've heard, too. Bummer, but then I have had several people tell me that it is full of crappie. I've thought about it!
Trying to figure how I can apply the Edmond residency 20% off. My grandma lives there, lol.
Sounds like fun
Being in the OKC area you are limited to good lakes. This is one of the good ones I want to fish so bad but can't justify the price. Think I'd be better off to keep on driving north on 35 to Carl Blackwell.
Have your Grandpa buy the tags and save 20%. I did not say this. The lake is full of crappie but they are not big. You have to cull them. The catfish are a different matter.
OOOPS, my bad, your Grandmother.
When Arcadia was being built it was supposed to be a joint venture between Edmond and the COE (US Govt). Edmond didn't pay their part so the COE got stuck with the tab. Now they charge an outrageous fee to enter. I refuse to go there.
I got the senior deal lol. It was close and I found them . I always caught nice sized crappie and at 7 every night I was in ten pound catfish. Get the senior deal and it just might be worth it to try for a year . You will make the fees up in gas saved .
Forgot that my grandma would get the senior discount. Lol
