Well after a tough bite and a cold wind on Conway today my trolling motor bit the dust. So I ask ya. What would you put on the front of your boat in the way of a trolling motor and new electronics or what do you have and recommend?

Can answer your question but it was a tough morning for us also.
Can't not can. Sorry.
Hey D10, I was fishing over by Gold Point Wednesday and saw some really big fish chasing each other around the trees and I do mean Big. We're these carp or what?
Those are buffalo and common carp. We saw a bunch when we were electro fishing.
It was crazy how many and how big they were.
Yeah we shocked several buffalo that were over 50 pounds. Every time we rolled up on some alligator weed, they were spawning under it.
Minn kota on trolling motor and hummingbird on depth finder! !!!
Wouldn't recommend a Terrova if you fish Conway very much. Unless you're interested in a used Terrova. Got a 55 with Ipilot just laying around here somewhere. I would starve to death if I were a salesman.:biggrin
I have the Minnkota 85 lb maxxum now and was thinking about the terova with the i-pilot link. Why would you not recommend it for Conway?
Motor drive is too slow in the thick stuff. If you troll a bunch, the terrova is all good.
So there is a delay from the time you hit the go right button and then you hit the stump?
I guess you having a $1,500.00 plus motor laying around somewhere kinda says it all.
I have a Minn Kota Maxxum on both of my boats. Foot control. Electronics, I like Lowrance. Just my preference
Nah. I love the Terrova. Needed to change to an 80 for the larger boat. I may end up putting the 55 back on the smaller boat. I figured someone else would comment on the Terrova. They are a trollers dream come true, but in the thick stuff, I prefer a cable steer.
If you are a troller I would go with a terrova for sure Humminbird for electronics.
I'm about 50/50. I have a six year old 797 si and figured on upgrading it with the new motor.
If you are a troller its terrova hands down. If you are back in the trees a lot or bass fish I would say a maxxum or fortrexx depending on how deep your pockets are
I fish a terrova every where just ask Greg lol. I prefer the Lowrance electronics. Just personal preference
H20 Sports in Sherwood Ark they sell Minnkota/Motorguide and have parts for just about any make of trolling motor!! Electronics Garmin!!! Good folks 501-834-0998
RCC. Are you wanting to sell the Terrova? I have been contemplating the Terrova or the new X5 motorguide. When you say bigger boat, How big? I have a PT190 Basstracker and wonder if 55lbs is enough because I really will have to do major work to go to a 24v system due to the room I have and current guage wiring on my rig. If your selling, how much? Not sure if I want to invest in new since they are so pricey.
I had the 55 on my 1860 excel and it was fine spider rigging. I did run it pulling cranks, but I never ran it over a couple hours at cranking speeds. It had crossed my mind to sell, but I do have a smaller boat that I may put it back on. Let me think about it, and then shoot you a pm.
Remember, anything to do with fishing bigger is better lol. Bigger boat, Tm, motor, rods, etc. most guys wish thy had bought something bigger after the fact. 80lb would be minimum IMO which ain't worth but 2 pennies
