Does anyone know if the ice is off yet? I tried calling that Hoosier Hideaway and no answer. Would the ramp be open? I never been there before, was gonna give it a try.

Wilber I have been trying to find out if Bass lake still has ice.Me and my friend want to go crappie fishing with the boat on 4/9/2014.
By that time you would be good. Syracuse is open and wawasee is almost full open as I have been told. Many of the other northern lakes are also open.
Rain took it off quick
almost all the lakes in NW part of the state are completely open...rain and warmer temps pushed the ice out almost overnight.
Bruce is all open water
It's on the west side of the lake right across from the old bait store . I can't remember if it county road 675 or 700 it on
Thanks Again I appreciate it
How was the fishing?
I didn't go. By the time I got the info it was too late. Im like 1 1/2 hrs. away.
you're in Illinois? early season crappie and walleye fishing can be tremendous on Wolf Lake...partially in Illinois and mostly in Indiana. I wouldn't overlook fishing that lake, you might even get the thrill of your life out there...last time I fished it with a friend for "eyes" with 1/8 oz. jigs we managed to catch and release a 34 inch musky...no monster for sure, but not that long ago, someone caught a 34+ pound musky while fishing from shore near the boat launch on the Indiana side (east side of the lake near Sheffield Ave.)
I have fished it before, most of the Crappies are small but have caught a few good ones. Not interested in Walleye or Musky.
