Can anyone tell me if the lake is back open ?
Passed by it going to Toledo Bend last Wednesday, still closed. Don't know what the problem is with the state taking so long with the rest area renovation. Been over a year now I think. Then again, I answered my own question - the government is involved.
I think the construction crew that is living in the camping trailers are dragging out the job so they can have the lake to themselves.
I read that the boat launch is open but the rest area is not....

That's confusing. I talked to 3 people who went last week. When you take the exit off of I49, there should be a sign pointing to the right to go to the boat launch. What did you encounter? I just hung up with Wildlife and Fisheries in Opelousas and they said the lake was open but not the rest area.
When I took the exit there was a sign blocking the entrance to the left for the rest area and a sign blocking the entrance straight ahead. On the right was a road but it dead ended????
the road to the right leads to the launch. My brother just called me. He goes that way every afternoon and I asked him to check it out. He went to the launch. He saw about 10 boats fishing.

Thanks , I took a ride down there on Thursday and found it. I was going to fish this weekend but the starter went out on boat. Looking forward to getting that fix real soon.
