They had been pulling Patoka for the past week and lake was down 3-4 ft from previous high. Lots of brush on banks was exposed and out of the water. I launched at Walls, and first went up..it got very muddy about a mile up..Fished numous colors, and different ways from casting jigs with tubes filled with nibbles, to curley tails, to hair jigs against bank, off structure deep, and long lined. Picked up 6 dinks to about 9 inches total and a 13" walleye out of the river channel in about 15' of depth at various speeds longlining 1/16 oz baits in river channel bumping standing timber over 18 or so deep water at a speed down to 0.4 mph,,the slower the better. Colors that produced were chartreuse, flo. orange/yellow, black/chartreuse. Went as far as a mile below Walls during the 7 hrs of fishing and never caught nothing. Water color was fantastic from Walls down towards main lake. Ran into numerous fishermen not catching anything as they all were pounding the banks. All the shad and fish were in the channel stacked deep..no fish on bank for me,,or any fish whatso ever hitting or feeding top anywhere. Water temp climbed to 53 over the day with wind gusting to 20 or so. I saw same fishermen and a guide on the lake with clients running everywhere searching fish. Can't speak for the rest of the lake as I got off it about 5pm as I had enough. Lake is ready to pop so its anybody's guess as to when. Even the birds and Osprey's weren't fishing either. With sunny and 70,,it was a good day to get out and check all my equipment and boat out and fish.
