I made a mold to make my own hal-flys. What do you guys think? The pink rubber body was formerly a pink trick worm that I melted down in the microwave.

nice!!!
are you using a Pyrex up to hand pour? each one?
Awesome work on the jig and especially the mold work. Very clean!
Good looking jigs
I love the way you made those great idea !!!!!!!!! Did you check out Shipahoy41s post, (The Jelly and Hackle Jig..How to make them photos)? I still make mine like Ship. Your way really looks worth looking into. I melt a lot of old plastic so I just save the heads of the worms, and thread the tails through.
I use Mr. crappie jokers cut the tails off and thread onto jig. Squeeze forward clamp n place with forceps. Tie your feathers and done. Mold is cool and your jig looks nice!
i just wanted to see if i could make them like the store-bought. Nothing wrong with the way ya'll are making them, I have did it that way before. It just seemed too time consuming for me. I'm going to try salt-water grade plastic next time, to see if that makes them a little tuffer. When I melt down plastic worms, they don't last as long as the store-bought ones. I'm thinking the salt water plastic will hold up better. I'll keep working all the bugs out, until I get them just like store-bought.thanks guys!
Why not just buy some plastisol a few colorants and just do it! I did its tons of fun!
Man that's funny . When I melt other baits down they are always stiffer, and seem a lot stronger. Theirs only a couple of types that stay nice and soft. I wish mine would come out a little more ply-able so they would have more action. I'm learning at 54 I can't always have everything my way. So far no bodies complained that they don't last long enough anyway.
