I believe if a kid wanted to make a few bucks he could work a busy ramp like a valet. 5 bucks and 40 launches later adds up. Might even get a mess of fish.
Your probably right hotrod! Just watch out for the 6 foot kid wearing Sponge Bob Nighties with a ReyMysterio Mask! BigBlue glad to hear that. I always ask if I see a guy launching by himself but they always tell me they got it most of the time! All I can do is offer to help but mostly amazed at how well they have got so good at it.....
There use to be a guy holiday lodge that would help out but guess the water is still too cold.
I have had to have help putting my last boat back on the trailer and certainly do not mind helping someone either launch or recover. It is so much more enjoyable when we all work and play well together.
As matter of fact had a old guy hold my boat as I parked this morning, thankful.
Thats cool BB. Last two I helped was a guy in his 80s ay satdis that was commercial fisherman with a big ole flat bottom and the other was a guy in his 80s at butla that was having a time backing up so I just picked the trailer up and got him straight. I like helping like this -- its knda fun and they kinda reminded me of satdoc lol
I'm glad some folks still know how to be considerate of others at the ramps. I was at Enid earlier this week. A fellow in front of me and I was sitting at the top of the ramp waiting for a guy that had backed down and then started unstrapping his boat to move. Just as he headed up the ramp this Dude with a fancy Bass boat came roaring by and cut ahead of us and launched. He pulled his boat up onto the ramp and went to park his truck. As he got even with my door he noticed his boat had drifted out into deep water. He went to cussing. The fellow in front of me went and fetched his boat for him. It's a good thing he did because if the Dude had asked me I was going to tell him I would like to, but my insurance wouldn't allow it. Instant Karma is great !
:) hehehehe
Mike.....that's got to be the funniest thing I have heard in a long time :Rofl:Rofl All them old guys remind me of satdoc too lmao :Rofl

I grew up in Nashville fishing Old a Hickory lake and I remember as a boy that a fella with waders stationed himself at the boat ramp and helped launch and retrieve boats. Probably would be a good way to make a few bucks and speed up the traffic .
When Steve and I made it back to Grenada Landing yesterday, Minnertroller and G3 Troller, Calloway and Andy, drove down the ramp and gave me a ride to my truck. Andy offered to go get my truck and trailer. Big help.....thanks guys!
