Sounds like you had a good time Billy. Glad you started it off right. I'm ready to go nightstalking again but it's hard to get someone to go with the weather the way it is. Remus and I were going to go this morning after my training meeting but talked ourselves out of it due to the wind. It was blowing pretty good at the pier when I was out there looking at the color of water. Maybe we can get John and go some night soon, Remus mentioned he would go at night if anybody would go. I assume you went early and came home somewhat early. Holler out some time maybe we can hook up and go.
Thanks for the report. Glad the bite was good. I'll probably give Big Allison Creek or Little Allison Creek a try one night this weekend.

Great report Billy. I think the pier is going to heat up this week with the warm weather approaching. Does anyone have any current water temps for Wylie? It's getting close, I can feel it.
What pier, big Allison's
Brett, I believe he's talking about Big Allison pier. I talked to a couple of guys there yesterday and they only caught two crappies in 2 days. I may be wrong but it's going to be a few more weeks before it heats up enough to get the fish around the pier in any numbers. Nightstalking and spider rigging or down/long lining are your best bets right now. The brush fishing guys I know are not catching many in brush. Fish are moving its just the water temperature needs to get right. Several days and nights of warm temps will surly help everybody. Water color needs to improve also. I'll be long lining next week if all goes well and a couple of nightstalks. Good luck!
I guess I will show my ignorance and ask about the pier. I have only put in at Eberneezer Park so where is the pier on Allison? Apparently I have not been far enough back in it to see the pier. I assume there is another landing there and the pier is big enough to accomodate a bunch of fisherman??
Soon as I get back from Florida I will be ready to make a return trip to Wylie, even night fishing if it is a night I am not working.

Ray, it is up a little farther on the left side from where you were fishing at the nuke bridge . You'll see the Allison creek landing on the left and just past the point is the pier on the left. Its fairly big. Only a street light there and a small parking lot. Come on up we'll get together.

I will be back from Florida on the 13th. My boat is in the shop right now, I still got a leak at the prop shaft. Afraid I may have an issue with the housing, but we will see.
Well the cat is out of the bag now guys! Good luck finding a spot out there now. Seriously though, the pier was producing good fish around this time last year. It has been colder this Spring, but the warm weather we are expecting throughout the next week will likely be enough to bring them up shallow. Take a look at the dogwoods. I am seeing a lot of them open up. I always get into crappie spawning right when you see the first petals on the dogwoods. I have gotten into them as early as March 15th two years ago, but it was much warmer. I also may be wrong, but I predict that within one week you will see fish shallow.

If you know where Allison Creek Landing is, you can find the pier. You go to the SECOND left turn on the right after you have turned off of Allison Creek Rd. If you turn into the first one you might need a new bumper, as it is an exit road that is on a steep hill. You should come out within the next few weeks.

Been there many times, still haven't caught that net. The bait of choice was gator snatch hooks with weed eater cord like they use in the Azores. LOL..
Mike will pay top dollar for return of that net. Although I hear he doesn't need a net at all !
You are right brettw I do not use a net because I use braid for the main line and 20 lb mono for drop line. I just wrench in the big ones like tuna.Quote:

Hey Remus, I just saw your post today. Mine is a 95 Yamaha 55HP which is a recycled Mariner after Yamaha took over all production from Mercury. I doubt it would fit, buy I will see what the shop comes up with and if I need one we will check to see, but I suspect the 90hp foot is larger than mine.Quote:
