I keep telling myself I am going to make it out that way but never do. I need to just do it. It is only 20 more miles than Moomaw and I do that at least once a year. Still haulin the boat 200 miles one way is never fun. Not to mention I actually have to cross over buggs island on 58 to get there. Kinda hard to pass that water and not stop to fish! What months are usually best?
I used to fish for them when I lived in northern Ill. What a blast. Nice fish.
I do best at Philpott from june til sept when they out deep. average 15 a day.
Heard they get 'em good at night in May. Need to get up there and give it a try.
they cast shallow minnow plugs when the shad are spawnin in May! Wish I wasn't so scared of the dark...
