Go back to your setting and do a system restore. Restore it to an earlier date.
-
ctrl alt delete 0r if it's just stuck--turn computer off then turn it back on.
If you think something may have been downloaded--do the system restore.

john, download this anti malware free software and scan your computer.........I had to do that, and it is an excellent tool. Totally free and safe.use it to scan your computer periodically for malware and viruses. It quarantined mine, and I deleted them.

Most of the time that's a virus in itself! Restore it

What duckhunter said.......I deleted that thread too

Just talked to Slab......he said the link opened for him and no problems.....I am not gonna try it.

That link was to a Field and Stream article. It worked fine for me. But it did throw up an Ad in a pop up. I closed the ad and could read the article fine. No virus received, no virus detected. But that don't mean their Ad could not ever send a virus. It's rare, and ad servers screen for them, but sometimes those ads can have a bad script (a virus) in them. So even thought it was fine for me, I'm not saying it could not happen. Better safe than sorry.

After you download Malwarebytes go out there and find Spybot another very good free ware program. I run both about once a week.

You need to run those in SAFE MODE john. Call me if you need help.

Are you running Window's 7 John?If so you can restart your computer and while it is loading just keep hitting F8 till a black screen comes up with all your startup options. I hit repair computer and it will give you a box listing country where your computer is/ US.Next it asked for name of computer, mine was Steve and the password you use to log on.The next box listed all the options. That is where system restore is listed. It will take you to the last known good configuration.Hope this helped.I ain't no computer GURU!

I had the same virus you have. I went to a computer at work and googled the message I was getting and I located a free malware download to clear it. I printed the directions from Google and used them to restore my PC. So far it has been good. I got the virus through a Field and Stream link also.

Everybody needs to keep a good Anti-virus program on hteir computer al of the time. I use AVG Free. It has a system scan option that scans any download BEFORE it is opened and if it detects questionable script, informs you and gives you the option to not open the file. Oh...and you have to keep your anti-virus definitions updated. New viruses are created every day. AVG automatically updates every evening.

Be sure to get the FREE version. The paid version is better, but know which one you want, and make sure you click the right dl.
