I hear there's enough water to put in at Holiday Lodge...but I also see 10 to 15 MPH forecast out of the south/southwest. I've not fished Sardis a lot...is it worth launching from Holiday under these conditions?

South wind can sink you at the ramp.....have seen lots of boats swamped before they could get the truck parked. Safest ramp is Engineers Point
Thanks G. It would suck to watch everyone else catch fish while I bailed water out of my boat!
Trust me....with a stout South wind, you'll be doin more than bailing out water. You'll need a pump and plenty of hoses. Not kidding either.
I just rolled my fishing plans to tomorrow...the wind should be a lot lower.
What ever wind is in the forecast....it always seems to be double that at the lake
I saw a guy get sunk on the ramp at Beach Point one time...it didn't look fun.
Zero boats have sunk at holiday this year with some pretty brutal wind. U just gotta use some common sense
Yeah, but G is right. If its 8 mph on land, it's the equal of 15 on the water, least it seems to be.
can you get in at Indian mound ?
Holliday should be fine right now out of any wind direction. Should be a canal there now. Indian mound is open that's where the lake is now.
Common sense is extremely uncommon these days.
Buddy just told me it took and hr to get out at Holiday...
I believe it. I left work today thinking I'd have a quiet day at the lake in the middle of the week. I got to Holiday around 2:30 and the place was jam packed. I didn't have to wait too long to launch but as I sat waiting in line I counted boats. There was a constant procession of between 8 and 20 boats coming up the channel to leave.
Fishing was pretty good…if I was paying attention it would have been a lot better…I missed 5 hook sets. Got them to the boat, they flipped me the fin, and took off. I landed two that were each just over 13 inches…sure is fun.
Oh yeah…a HUGE thanks to whoever put up the channel markers! Great idea.
