Between Spillway Rd and Northshore Parkway. Is it too far from good fishing areas?
Fishing is good everywhere right now. I would love to try the dam out right now. I have caught some monster fish in front of the rocks.

You talking about pelahatchie bait shop . It is small . You can go to fannin landing or on up to hwy 43 . Pelahatchie bay is back toward the dam one on the rankin side of the dam and then madison is off and around the other end sorta by cock of the walk . Most of those sub divisions have landings in them . And the fish are biting . Macpappy i don't think there up on the rocks yet . It is a day by day thing . Lol
Thump, I like to catch them during prespawn in front of the rock when they are in 12-14' of water.
Best day i had last year was just like that .

The spillway rocks have been hit or miss these last few days. Caught some good ones before the cold front but not too much action there since. Single poled around the yacht club for two hours today for a quick trip. Nothing to fast but put 10 good slabs in the boat plus a bunch of throw backs. Still finding the bigger ones holding tight to the bottom.
I pretty much am bouncing the jig off the bottom in 14 fow . They are still holding the bottom . May come down that way one day next week . Good luck to all .
Since you are driving in from the north, you should try launching at Tommy's off of hwy 43. It's in a protected cove, lots of good fishing nearby, and it's much closer for you.
