Can you mix glitter with non-clear powder paint? What ratio?
I'm assuming you mean (non-clear) with the color of the powder?? If thats the case the color will mask the glitter, your better option if you have any clear is mix the clear with the color and the glitter although some mix the glitter with clear and use it as a second dip.
Look in the stick on powder coat mix's and there's alot of information and how to mix them without going to the trouble of wasting any trying to figure it out.
For me - I use as I have 2" fluid beds (but do a lot of brush tapping) I would use 1 1/2 tablespoons of my color, 2 tablespoons of clear and add in your glitter 1/2 teaspoon to start. dip a head and see how it comes out. You may have to play with it a little. Make sure to write down everything you do!!! There is nothing worse than making a nice batch and then run out and not remember how you mixed it.
Here's the thread on mixing powders, it shows colors and how to mix them. Lots to read up on.

What I mean is say can I add some holo or silver glitter to some white paint and get decent results? Great thread thanks!
Would really be better if you had some clear, it will soften the white to allow the glitter to show - White is a tough color.
Yes you can mix glitter with opaque powder paint. The ratios is trial by error - use a smaller mix to test.
I use a mirror black mix (diamond dust) using a holographic glitter from Columbia Coatings ( my mix is ~2oz paint with 1 tsp glitter). Awesome paint especially with "illusion overcoat" - it brings out the glitter . I also use the holographic additive with my pearl white.
I tried mixing glitter with white and was not successful. I got in a paint group buy and ordered 2 lbs of clear and started over. Then I found out my mix ratio was not right and had too much glitter which resulted in a rough, over glittered head so I cut WAY back on the glitter. a ratio of 12 teaspoons of clear to 1/2 teaspoon glitter got the results I was looking for. Your results may be different. I base coat with whatever color I'm painting and top coat with the glitter clear. Works great
crappiepappa, got a pic of some Jughead's with your mix?
At home. I'll post some pics tonight.
Okay, here are 2 that I have. notice how subtle the glitter is on the white head and how pronounced it is on the pink head? same glitter/white. But I like both of themAttachment 154301Attachment 154302
Couple of nice color heads.
Nice!!!
I dip mine in my choice of base coat in fluid bed then have a mixture of 10 clear to 1 glitter premixed and just dip the head while still warm in the glitter mix and this is how mine turn out...

I like that pink and blue Kicken. That's a nice combo. Like your heads too!
I use a 3" fluid bed. I dip main color then 2nd puk has a clear coat mix with what glitter you want. Normal mix is 4 to 1 pending measure device. 2nd method is tapping where I mix heavy glitter almost 1 to 1 but I like to use mica from Hobby Lobby. You had some good advice here already. Watch when you dip the spread can be different just by the way you position the jig .....dipping in 2nd puk parallel or head first makes a difference in distribution of glitter (just my experience playing).
