Didn't find them

First time out with the boat in a long while. The Mrs and I took the day and rode around looking in the shallows. Did a lot of casting and no luck. Marked some fish on a likely spot and Connie hollered you might want to net this one. It was a minute or two before it surfaced and it was a legal size green thing but it pulled real good on the spinning outfit I have her trying out right now and that made her happy.
I went looking later and found some fish around a bait ball and had one hit and that was all. I have not found them yet and maybe I can get out next week and try again. Have to see how we feel. It sure felt good today and looking forward to the next outing.
The water temp was in the mid 50's to low 60's but they sure ain't cooperating with me. seen lots of people fishing and when they were coming in they said they were not catching any but hope to do better in the next week. :dono

Hang in there Fred, they're waiting to surprise you on an outting. Hope to get up that way next month for a few days and then back in mid-May. Gottta remove those dang green fish in order to get the speckled ones! They eat too!

Give me a holler when you get near. Hope you find some fish. I will be riding and looking gonna go a little south then back up in my neck of the woods. I just ain't seeing them is all. Can't see the forest for the trees???? Good luck, Ferdi

wow, glad to hear doing so much better!!!!! I am gonna try to get up there in the middle of next week........hope to hear a better report by then!!!!

Was within sight of the Cassel's Boykin new boat ramp except when I was looking deep then I was around the corner towards the old ramp. Ferdi

ferrdi, what did ya think of the new pier and handicap parking lot???? the organization, TBBU that I am on the board, had that built........

That ramp is really nice, seems to keep the kids occupied running all over the place throwing things and having a ball while their parents don't have to watch them. I am sure that is not what it was intended for but that is what I seen while we were on the water. They did have a couple poles in the water but were having too much fun to fish. NO PARENTS AROUND ANYWHERE........

Fred this weather has them doing I don't know what. Had a good trip out a few weekends back, but since then I either have been busy or out of town, but did go check them a few days back where I was doing well was not working at all, just got one and let him go. Thinking about trying this afternoon to see if they are back and ready. Since it's been really messed up I am thinking this full moon should be a killer! It was a different kind of spring when we went out and got the 47 that weekend, but the difference was usually when they come in it's all Black males at first and they are lit up for spawn, but this year or that trip it was about half and half plus only one of the males was lit up. I don't understand what is going on with that.

Connie and I will be going out Tuesday and try it again. Should be some around by then I hope. Got my livewell fixed up and working so would like to give it a work out. Also bought another one of the Bubba Blade's to see which one I like. I do like the feel of them and should work good I hope. Catch you later. Ferdi

Are you fishing T-Bend? I got 25 Saturday and another 25 on Sunday before 11:30 trolling outside of moss in the six mile area. I was long lining 4 rods using various body color 1/16 oz curly tail jigs....then the cold front blew in.:fish Should get better with the weather warming up this week. Haven't gotten them up in the shallows yet.
