Holographic Zebra Shads

I've been doin some more experimenting. This time ive been playing with foils. Heres the latest concoction to come out of the shop! Of all the baits Ive made over the past few years I think these might be in the top 2 or 3 favorites. The "prisoner stripes" as a friend calls them, are airbrushed on. Then I dipped in clearasol with UV enhancer. Ya Dig em? As you can see the colors change at different angles.

If You are trying to decide which of the tiger stripes look better, I like the ones that go across the top and then diagonal on the sides. Either looks great though.CF

I never thought about using reflector type tape I lie I was thinking about cutting the strip in leaning that on behalf of the molds and then reshooting but I see that maybe you wrapped it around and shot and then dipped it in clear plastic genius idea love your airbrushing I haven't got my airbrush yet we do have the paint but I have not got into it just yet always good-looking stuff .

yes you turkey you definitely want me to get going with that airbrush for sure I sit here and drool every time you post one of those you're doing a good job I'm dying to see what else you have in mine. have you tried scale yet.

The foil is what I was trying to think of when you posted the glass minnow post. I thought you had used something like that in those. That is why I mentioned it. I knew if you had not used it them that you would eventually. Somehow I read you on that. Those look awesome. I had been trying to look for something similar but had not ran across anything I thought would work. Great job.

Snake I had actuallu been thinking something similar like shooting half then putting a dot of dye and then laying something reflective over it then shooting the top, it would make like a bleeding core over reflection. Do you think it would work?

What lengths are you going to be able to produce those in ??

A little silver or silver & blue metal flake thrown in (very little, at that) would really make them pop in the sunlight in clear to slightly stained water. That's just a "suggestion", as they ROCK just the way they are !!!

Thank yall for all the complements. Gives me more motivation to try and make "better" baits! I use that term loosely here.

For those wanting to try this, keep in mind that what you put in the bait will have to withstand heat up to the low to mid 300 degrees. Also keep in mind that a hook will have to pierce it easily. The orientation of the foil also plays a factor in it also. Luretape is too thick and hard for this.

can u put one on a hook so I can see how it is supposed to be rigged....really like those baits and sounds very labor intensive.....thanks in advance...FV

Fishervet you would just rig it on a jig head like you would any other soft plastic. I will try to remember tomorrow to put up a pic.

Those are way too cool! I would put them on my hook in a heartflash and then call home and tell the wife to get the hot sauce ready. Daddy is hooking those puppies up in the fish mouths.
