Looking to buy a 2 bank.
I have the Minn Kota and am well pleased, the new ones are getting real good reviews. I prefer the 15 amp per bank chargers simply so I came come in at dark, plug up and I am ready to go the next morning.
MinnKota
Minn Kota. I have a 330 and love it.
Noticed Walmart had the MK 210-d for 109.00
That's a 5 amp per bank charger....You really would do better with a MinnKota MK220D.....10 amps per bank.....But once you get to pulling crankbaits with that big pontoon you will see you need two batteries to pull for very long even if your using golf cart batteries....so you ought to just go ahead when you can and get the MinnKota MK330D and have three banks. Also....don't know what trolling motor you are using but you need one that can pull that pontoon at 1,8 mph.
I just figured out Minn Kotas numbering system. I want the larger amp charger.
I only have a 55# MK right now but plan on upgrading later. It pulls this pontoon better than it did my 18 ft glass bass boat This pontoon only sits about 10 inches in the water with 2 people.does good as long as wind is not to bad.

Minn Kota 330, love mine
Minn Kota 330D
I found some refurbed mk 330's on eBay couple weeks ago for 100 bucks each. Well got them in and they could pass for brand new. So I ordered 2 more. I would check into it too
Just FYI there was a similar thread on this recently and someone mentioned that the charger should be mounted vertically. Mine was sitting on a block of wood under the deck. When I had my boat in the shop recently I noticed they had stood my charger up on end. When I read about mounting it vertically I did some checking and on the two websites I was able to find info, both said to mount it vertically for cooling purposes.
I bought my boat used so I did not have the manual for the charger so this was news to me.
Just thought I would pass it on.
I don't no how fast it goes. But I will find out soon. I want to get one with I pilot when I can get the money together.
What amp breaker / fuse should I put between the battery's and trolling motor. I'm using 6 gauge wire.
I use the Bass pro brand.. Because they are so good at standing behind their products.
probably a 50 amp breaker.......it varies by trolling motor make and model.....mount it close to the battery
:hesaid The owners manual should tell you the amp needed. 50 amp is the most common, but check the owner's manual to be sure.
I think on the 24 they call for a 60. Kinda hard to find. Might watch Academy they have some pretty good sales on the MK sometimes. For the money I'd sure check out one of them refurbs.
He is running a 12 volt TM
My Terrova 55# calls for a 60 amp. My 101# calls for a 50 amp.
I'll check the model #. It's old.
Go to the MinnKota website and contact customer service,.......tell them what you got and ask them what size they recommend.
I run a Minn Kota 315D. Only 5 amps per bank, but keeps my batteries hard batteries hard charged overnight.
5 AMPS is plenty if you just use the boat on occasion or if you just slow troll, not running the batteries down low. If you fish til dark and run the batteries all the way down, you most likely won't get a full charge by daylight the next day.
I have a 12volt powerdrive 55 V2. I have a 50 and have never popped it
