Anything at Wateree?
Well guys, the Whipper is back after a long hiatus of not catching anything/bad weather. Me and the INFAMOUS Raccoon might hit Wateree in search of the famous Diamondback perch, maybe a double slab hook up to tick someone off, or infamous curse of the slimers. Anything going on there and wuts the best place to fish with the closet ramp? Too cheap to get a bigger motor.

better get on down there Whisker. nothing but hush mouth might mean something up?? have not been in a while but hope to get down there for a few days next week.
good luck Whisker.

Let us know how you do. I don't know what all this rain will do to the lake
-
I heard the crappie were starting to move up into the creeks, but this rain may push them back towards the main channel. I hope to fish the state park area Saturday night, will let you know how we do.
-
Looks like a wall of mud and 35 degree rain heading down all the creeks.
Maybe we look at the lower end like the honey hole and aroud there?
-
Good luck guys I wish I could go. My knee is healing but still a long way from right.

My first post!
Glad I found somewhere to get some fishing updates!
Looks like the water is going to raise to possibly 102 at Wateree ... Let us know if y'all catch any I can't wait till they get around the piers.
Any idea when they'll get that shallow?
-
Welcome to the forum. I'm going to try to get down there soon and will send back a report.
-
Thanks I may go down this weekend .. Anybody been in the last few days?
-
Thought about going to Wateree today but instead went to Fishing Creek. Fished in the creek across from the landing on hwy 21 with jigs in 7-12' of water with no luck. I saw plenty of fish on the finder but could not get them to bite. The water temp was 58 degrees in the creek so the fish seem like they should be moving up soon. I guess all that water inflow has held the bite down so far. Maybe we will have a few more good days and the water will clear up a little.

Any new updates from wateree?
-
Haven't been to Wateree in a while but took my 7 year old to Fishing Creek Lake this evening and caught a couple in 7-8 feet of water on jigs and minnows under a float near brush. The water temp was 52-54 degrees and the water was still really stained. Funny thing was they hit a white jig, not anything dark.
-
Wateree is still pretty muddy, water temp showed 53/54 today. Looking like a couple cold nights coming up, it may be a couple more weeks before they move shallow?
-
I fished Saturday. Found a few biting fish in 18-20 fow. They would not touch a jig but I managed to talk 4 into minnows fishing 10-12 ft. They were feeding on threadfins but it was real slowwww. I only saw one other fish caught. Water temp started at 52 early and got up to 58 by 3pm.

The hard wet winter has everything a little behind. That's a good thing though because the sooner it starts the sooner it will be over
-
I also fished Saturday at Beaver Creek. Water muddy, most of the fish I marked were in 20 -28 fow, 12-20 feet deep. 1 crappie on minnow, 1 wp, caught nothing in the creek, nothing shallow. temp 54
