The American Angler older 120v power head (Black) seems to run at a higher pitch or faster than the new 110v . I have not used the new one yet but would like to know if anyone has compared the two and also if anyone would recommend some other electric fillet knife as being better yet. :confused:

I think either of those would out perform the Green handle Mister Twister. I used an American Angler for years before it finally wore out. God only knows how many Mister Twisters I have gone thru!!!
My fish so big I normally use a sawzall! ... Haha actually I been useing a browning 110/12 volt for about 10 years with no problems yet. But I haven't seen another one like it since I bought it maybe they don't make them anymore. I've heard the wall mart-black&decker electric knife is a good one.
I thought TNT was the only one other than Bigfish that uses a sawzall :Rofl

Quick, my new AA filet knife gets a lot hotter than my old one. It is suppose to be better with more power but I don't know. You would think if it had more power it wouldn't get as hot. It is smaller so that is nice but other wise I like the older one better. Wes

Pet that old Black one and keep it in a special place. None of the new ones work as good as that old one. Take it apart,clean and regrease the gears once a year.

I guess I am one of the few that prefers a actual fillet knife. I have the Dexter set...with it I can skin and fillet anything that swims.

Quick it seems Rapala has their new heavy duty electric fillet knife with more speed and power like American Angler. I saw it at Academy Sports a few days ago. Here is the link from Rapala on it.

I like the older one personally. But the best upgrade I've made on fillet knives is getting the American Angler Shark blade. It might be overkill but going through 20+ of crappie in no time. I've had the same blade for 5+ yrs and it does not go dull. Think profile and I can turn and burn through some fish with those blades. You won't need the extra power with the sharp blade. Takes care of 4-8 lb walleye easy too.

Quick, Got mine at Wallie-world several years ago on a clearance rack.
Got 1 Mister Twister electric and 2 Am Angler electric fillet knives, 3 manual knives, a round file ect.
Called all around about the Am Angler saltwater shark blade...and now I have one coming on the 12th...so all I need now is something to fillet...Here Fishy Fishy :fish
