That's a good question. I was there a week or so ago and it was fine. We did just get a few inches of ice but I don't know if it was enough to ice the lake over.
I called the state park office and said there was some ice but that most if not all ramps were open.
so.....we are headed over friday and may stay till sat if we can find fish and get'm to the boat
Don't know what this cold front will do to them but this past weekend they were hiting pretty good on the east side of the lake in 5 to 6 foot of water. I actually fished saturday afternoon on west side of lake and found my fish in 7 to 8 foot just off the bottom. Good luck hope you find em:)
I'll be there this weekend, ice or no ice!
Thanks bigD
Well I thought I'd be in the Boro all weekend but our girls lost to a very good Creekwood team in the first round so guess I'll be on the foot tomorrow:) Good luck to all and be safe:)
I hope u had better luck than we did......
I got to fish for a few hours in the evening and only caught three crappie, missed a few and caught a stripe. It was very slow to say the least. Some older guy came by when I was loading my boat and ask me to show him a crappie, he said he'd been to three ramps and no one had a fish but did say he heard a guy had caught 15 over at kirbys. I went over there first but 75 plus boats at the ramp was more then i cared to fight when come time to load and unload so I went back to west side of lake again.
Thats what I heard too as we were leaving....kirby pocket.
I have some more time towards end of april so im going back over for a couple days.....
maybe I will have better luck
Should be good fishing still. I went back sunday afternoon after church for a lil while and never caught a fish only had two bites. I haven't been skunked in a long time but the foot is kicking my butt at the moment:( Good news is that it can only get better...
BigD I had the same thing happen on Saturday. Fished everywhere on the lake without a bite. I can't remember the last time that happened :(
My brother and I fished Saturday, and only caught 3 fish, but the 3 we did catch weight 4lbs 4z total. I'm ready for some consistant weather, so they will get right.
Heard a report today that they were catching good fish over at Kirby's. 30 plus mph winds 2moro:( Guess I'll try and go thursday for a lil while wind is suppose to ease up a bit by then.
Shad kill has the white crappie laid up and getting fat, big specks are on if u can find em, I'm hoping the whites get hungry by Saturday!
Josh, Riddle posted a pic on fb. He got into a good mess of whites. They may be starting to hit.
Fished. Thurs, Fri & Sat. Caught a total of 5 crappie. 1 big one. Had a guide 2 of those days. Weather was just not cooperating. Sounds like the same for the next week. Too cold at night. Water temps around 48-50 in the afternoon and a lot of wind. Good luck to those still trying.
Hammered em Saturday morning in the deep water
Hey all we're planning a trip down to Reelfoot can't decide on a weekend. Last weekend of March or the first weekend in April? Any info would be appreciated. Since we live just south of Dayton hate to drive so far to get skunked. Thanks in advance.
Normally I would say end of march but the way this year has gone so far I would say first of April. Just my 2 cents.
Yeah I'm with Minner but I'd wait as long as possible to decide and watch weather
Thanks for the input did notice a cold front coming thru next week hopefully it clears out and doesn't slow em down to much. see ya'll first of April.
