Yep
Thanks.....at what age will he need license
16 for Mississippi
As long as he knows he caught twenty ,life is good .Like Art Linkletter once said " kids say the darndest things " .:HandsClapping
I was told by the green pants you had to have two separate places to keep the different limits in... Udunno now.
Yea, some greenjeans I've talked to want you to id your catch.
was told last time that you just need to "have no more than the limit. Can share a cooler. they aren't that picky". Take this advice for what it is worth.

Yep, cousin carried his 5 year old dove hunting, green jeans comes up and they have more than one limit. Cousin claimed part of the birds were the 5 year olds, green jeans takes a seat to observe the shooting skills of the 5 year old. After a couple of passings of doves and the kid cant even raise the gun up my cousin received his ticket, weren't for no drawing neither!!!!:Rofl
Wouldn't chance it in Washington County.. I'd carry 2 coolers and separate the catches. We have one warden who would write his own mother a citation.
If he fetches minnows gets some jigs nets some fish it's a team effort you got two limits from two people. I'd have him up front where the action is. Back of the boat gets boring quick. Having a 7 year old as a partner with two limits is a trip he won't forget. Having a 7 year old bored and sleeping and getting burned is a trip he won't forget either. Be hard to get him in the back seat again much less the boat.
Don't know about you, but its a lot more fun for me to watch a kid catch a bunch than it is for me. I'll put bait on for them all day long and love it.
Except in WB's case. After two trips his youngin were catchin more than him, and he got caught on the reverse end of "how many are yours"!! Just kidding...im tryin anything to get a rise out of the boy. He has gone 'undercover' lately!!
He will catch his share and will sit up front some but he likes casting a roadrunner too while I am trolling. I like to let him do what he wants so he enjoys the trip
In that case if there is a set limit for each person in the boat WHY do we have a boat limit on the big 4 lakes?
Seems to me that someone is getting short-changed.
worried jr. gonna catch more than him...... #beenthere
Just asking because he is so young......wanted to make sure game wardens would believe me if i got checked at ramp

no cheating here. my son was five in this video.
Now that's what I'm talkin about. No question who caught the fish!!!!! Nice job on the video. Priceless to share that quality time TEACHING your kids to do it Right!!!!!
Glad that crank didn't pop outta that fish too. Them trebles are bad cats in a kids flesh!!! :)
I was refering to the issue of keeping each person's limit in a different cooler. I never bring more than one fish cooler. I've just gone through the entire document linked below and I do not see anything stating that each person's limit must be kept separate.

If me and a budy are fishing Sardis and I get a ticket for having 21 in the cooler and 6 or more of the fish are my buddy's and thats the only cooler and the only fish in the boat, I'm going to court and fighting the ticket. Dont see how a judge can enforce something that aint on the books.
I wouldn't worry with all this mess. I feel like no matter what I can get a ticket every time I'm checked. Which is less than 10 times in 20 years. Out of those I got a lead shot ticket, non functional life jacket ticket, and a no boaters ed ticket. There are so dang many rules I have a hard time with remembering and following them. Whistles, air horns, fire extinguishers, pole numbers, fish limits, running lights, parking passes, life jackets, licenses, trailer tags, etc. ha. I just be as nice as I can and give them what they ask for. They know who is trying and who is not. Just try to be legal and u will be ok.
Your saying a boat has to have a boat trailer tag too? They never said anything when I registered my boat about trailer tag as well,,,,and the boat Ed certificate Rule for Mississippi if different then tennessee?
Boat trailers are exempt in Tn. from registration. The license requirement in Ms. says any minor under 16 yoa resident or non resident does not need a fishing license. So I would take that 7yo fishing anytime he wants to go and catch 15 crappie PER PERSON including 15 for that 7yo. Nowhere have I read in the regs does it say a specific age for a fisherman be it 5 or 95, if he can fish and hold a pole he is entitled to keep 15 just like everyone else who has posted in this thread. I would rather see him sitting in a boat with his dad catching fish for some father, son time as playing a dadgum video game. and Mississippi excellent video. Keep him fishing any time he wants to.
