My grand daddy used to fish at the bridge there where the river goes under 15 . 12 cane poles that reached almost all the way across the river . He had a 64 step side chevy blue and he was there almost everyday till he was not able . My daddy always talked about the bream there when he was growing up . Grand daddy fished for catfish all the time . Brought back some good memories . Thanks
Purdy pix Chris. Tranquil and Therapeutic to be in a place like that.
Back years ago, when I was a kid. We used to go to Burnside get on the nature trail and walk all the way to the railroad tracks. We would go down the tracks another half-mile or so and take another trail that led to a couple of other oxbow lakes. These were so hard to get to that they were rarely fish. We came out with stringers of bream and bass most every time. We would put our stringers of fish into a homemade Fish sack and dip it into the water to keep them wet for the long hike out. No matter what time we got home we always cleaned The fish right away and would have a great big fish fry.
