no I havent, once it get in the water it isnt his anymore. I guess for me it woud be how he asked, if he was nice and had a speical reason like he had someone with him that he wanted to show it to I would probably move for him. If he wasnt nice i would fish it all day even if wasnt catching anything
I have had that happen to me many many times. My wife says that I attract ********. LOL And yes I stayed there fishing although nothing was biting.

I had a guy in Canada come out on his dock screaming at me that he wanted me away from his dock and his island. Those fish were for him and his family and he was tired of the ******** from the U.S. coming in and taking over! We were fishing the shore line working Senkos and no cast was ever made within 25 yards of his dock. We moved to the next island, we were there to relax not listen to an idiot!!

I've had a few incidences at one particular Tenn lake. An elderly couple happens to be lucky enough to have trees/brush out in front of their home/dock, though I'm doubtful "they" placed the brush there.
They will occasionally come down to the dock & bang/clang around, or fish, when we're in the area. They've never actually said anything to us, and in fact have never spoken to us, even when we casually speak a greeting to them.
Last time we were there, they had a warning siren/alarm that was aimed towards the lake ... that they'd turn on, in hopes of driving us off. We already knew about it, and were prepared for it ... we had ear plugs :Rofl
And it isn't just us "out of staters" that have had similar reactions from these people ... the locals are the ones that told/showed us about the area & what to expect from these people. Most all of the other dock owners on this lake have been very friendly & accommodating ... even coming down to the dock to chat, fish, or just give us tips as to what the fish are biting on & when/where.

I have had issues with a particular guide on KY Lake, but so have other member here (c,com)and a guide here have had issues with this poky. Bass Masters blasted him about "my" brushpiles.
Never had anyone try to run me off. Had a few people to join me when I was on one. Had one dude fish a complete circle around my boat never more that a long rod length apart. Wind was blowing and it was really tough when he got on the down wind side to keep my boat off of his.
I had it happen years ago on KY. LAKE. A guy came down to his dock and told me he'd put a brush pile next to his dock and for me not to fish there. I thanked him for the tip and caught a nice BASS off it. I then moved down past his dock and he went back inside his house.

I haven't had it happen so far. I did exchange PM's with another person on here that had posted a video on here of someone doing it to him. I wanted to go with him and take along a second video camera, the number for the local game warden and let them give him a little talk and possibly a ticket for haressing people legally taking game. But I have to get a kayak first. I don't have a problem burning people like that.
Just tell him his pile was so small that you put yours on top of it so it is now your pile, but that he can fish it when you're finished!
I'd probably just start me big motor up and do circles until they left or I scared everything away
Now the one I was refering to the gentleman came out on his dock giving the guy fishing out of a kayak ol billy for fishing close to his dock. You could see that the fellow in the kayak never got out of his boat. He had put in down the lake at another location. I don't remember if it was this fellow or another but the land owner called the local cop who came out. The cop told the person fishing to come ashore. The person fishing told the cop come out here and had him call the game warden. When the game warden got there he put the cop and the landowner in there place. I loved it.
From the perspective of a dock owner and kids. I don't want some yahoo leaving a lure so my kid can get stuck by it. Respect the mans wishes and move on. Or pony up the money for medical bills. Your choice.

YES! Several of us with Crappie.com assisted COE rebuild brushpiles on a local lake and furnished trees , blocks and zip ties. I was fishing one last year and an old man informed me that was his spot and moved right in tossed out an anchor within a few feet of my boat. He said those corks tied to it were his markers. I told him it was a public lake and it was marked on the map as a fishing structure. We had helped rebuild it or he would not have a place to fish. Reminded him it was public and I could not stop him but I was there first and he had no right to run me off.
Once you place cover it is anyone there first on public. But when locals follow you and take them over we have been know to move one . But only those taken over by guys that refuse to help when asked.
I was fishing before and had folks motor over my marker bouy to see what I was fishing. Even had folks circle me or even try to troll over the marker I had out . I've seen folks toss a marker on a top I put out , then move off out of the wind then gripe because I fished close to it. You can't hide them from the electronics these days but when regulars fish your hard work and refuse to help it sure don't make you feel good about it.

I heard there was a guide around Paris Landing that got smart with a man & his wife for fishing "his" brushpile. You would think he would know better and have handled it better.
Many years ago, a boat from Illinois tried to go between me and the bank I was fishing. Since I was sitting in about 5 feet of water and throwing into 1-2 ft. of water, I knew it would mess up my fishing. I moved in and cut them off and as they went around me, we had a very pleasant conversation. I don't think they realized what they were doing. Trouble is, I wound up spooking the fish I had been catching trying to stop them from doing the same.
Some people are ignorant about proper etiquette on the lake and others are misinformed or just bullies. This same buddy was fishing a treetop with his son several years ago and had a guy pull right up to the same treetop and start fishing. It's easy to say you should give someone down the road but the problem is we don't always know who we are dealing with. Things could escalate in a hurry.
There are several ways to deal with someone who wants to homestead a brushpile regardless if you got there first or not. I've never had to do this and hope I never have to. I go fishing to relax and not get stressed out. Good rule of thumb is to never wrestle with a pig. You'll only end up getting dirty and the pig likes it!

I myself would ackowledge their dumb arses by saying, "Oh, I didn't know?!" Then I would drop my anchor right in front of them making the loudest splash sound I could make. Then I would tell them I will dredge the brush piles up with my anchor after I finished catching all of "their" fish if they didn't move along to another spot. Just saying...
just get a boat id # and call the man, its that simple
now if I'm confronted with any form of violence even verbal well then its game on, because before I leave that spot said brush pile will be in the middle of the lake if it takes all day to it

All jokes aside kentucky lake can get pretty bad with guys claming brush piles> Any body can clam they put it in. I know some that do. I also know some who spend a lot of time and money building good structure. But once it goes in it belongs to the lake.
Just be careful some nut just might be having a bad day and be packin
