Pamona dock 2-28

Okay got on dock before daylight, only one there. That did not last long as a number of folks showed up. I caught a couple of keepers right off in a hole. Then had a little dry spell then caught two more then a long dry spell. Gave up on that one a found another. Started catching a few just on a regular basis not really hot but steady, nothing huge most keeps around 10.5 a few bigger biggest fish I seen caught around 12 inchs. Lots of white bass caught. I only kept 8 gave a lot away, Chief took the rest, he had around after I took my eight out.
Most of mine caught on a Watermelon colored lead spoon. Chief using the same, one guy was using a rig with a pimple on bottom and a red and white hair jig on top, they liked the red and white hair jig. Most folks had fish in the buckets slowed way down about 1100 so a packed up and left.

Not a bad day, saw one boat on lake.

Surprised, and really glad to hear that is up and down at the dock, I thought it was trending down to dinks or nata!

Well do not know what this awful weather will do. Will not try to find out either time to hibernate until warmer weather. Was not to bad today but still cold on the water. Good luck to who ever tries to go this weekend. Please be safe. PLUS do not go on ICE alone.

It sounds like a GREAT day to me!!!!! Wish I was there, just waiting to get that THUMP fix on. Wind, ice or just me being a wussy (cold), fishings been very limited here.

Not much of a thump bite was extremely light. Just felt your pole get a little heavy then set the hook. The guys fishing with the bass outfits do not catch much.

That watermelon spoon must be the ticket, the last time I was down there an older gentleman and his son were using that same colored spoon and they outfished everyone....and I was even fishing in the same slip they were......and that is the frustration of dock fishing, sometimes you have to have the exact lure in the exact color.... i didn't have that particular spoon or that color in any other style spoon :banghead glad you had a decent day.

Yeah it can be tough. A person needs a variety of stuff. But small and dark seems to be the ticket this winter. Light line is a must not over 3 lb. due to the light lures and light bite.

So, I guess a Bell rig won't work? :dono How deep is this dock? Do you think those dinky Northland Forage Minnow spoons would work? Sometimes when they get kinda tricky I like a 1/80 or 1/64 jighead with a waxy on 6lb line. The heavier line with that light jig let's it fall oh so slow. :HandsClapping Berkleys Micro Maggots work good sometimes too, digs out the humpy's also. :ThumbsUp

Not sure about that crappiedoc. I have seen some folks have luck using a Swedish Pimple. silver with the green back seems the go to color with the pimple. Smallest size you can get.

Hit the dock again this morning. Started off good but quickly went down hill. Caught about half dozen, quickly after sun got up. Slowed to stop at around 8. Stayed until 1000 then decided to call it a day.

Was wandering how thick the ice was. Thinking about fishing their on Friday. Didnt know if I needed my auger, or just something to bust holes out with. Thank you.

If you want to open new holes need auger. I mostly do not open new holes just use a spud or spoon to open old holes. Should have no trouble Friday as today ice was getting soft but still is 4 to 8 inches thick.
