Fish it, does not bother the crappie!
Good to know. One spool is good. The other one has so much twist its time to change. Thinkin the camo
I love the hi-viz line. It's alot easier to see, which helps on the light bite days, and I catch just as many fish as I do on the other stuff. (which ain't alot) Somebody on here done a strength test a year or two ago, and if I remember correct, the MR. Crappie line was the strongest.
Some folks say it does'nt matter but may depend water color and type of fishing. I prefer clear line myself. When using big jigs I put a small barrel swievel about 18'' above my hook inline and it helps on the spinning reels to keep down twist.
A certain Pro told me it was a no no on Lake Conway. I tend to listen to him.:twocents
I fish it on all my rods. When I fish on conway and some other lakes I use 2' of clear at the end of my Hi-viz.
I use hi-vis braid on Greers:twocents
Hi-vis on the pole, fluorocarbon to the jig.
I thot bout doing a leader that would be great
Clear and I'm experimenting with the camo. Prefer clear
Just bought me some 20$ a roll !!!!
Don't matter were you fish you can catch fish with hi-vis! !!!! I have been using it ever sence it come on the market (golden stern).!!!!!
i dont use it but i mostly vertical jig and i think it can spook fish in clearer water, looks like it a matter of opinion , my confidence is in clear fluorocarbon , i use " vicious"
I still use Berkley Solar which is a fluorescent green. I use it for all occasions from muddy to clear water. Once in a while when the bite is light or off a little, I will switch to a clear just to make me feel better
Picked up some fluero today. Always loved it for bass. High resistance to abrasion and u can usually get away with a smaller pound test. Strong stuff. Gonna rig my poles with it...or maybe just put on leaders.
I like the high vis line for a little different reason. I don't see quite as well as I used to, especially up close. I got new ultra light and was spooling it with 4# flouro. I have a heck of a time seeing that wispy little stuff and much prefer something I can see. I run Stren gold or neon green Berkley Big Game on my trolling rods, otherwise I'd have no idea where the lines go out the back of the boat.
X2 for Stren Gold # 6 for spider rigging, and casting jigs.
In clear water I also catch Bass, and Walleye on it all the time.
Be safe all!
