Orange grove 2-20-14
All I can say is that wind is howling! Ended up with 13 and 6 bass, but it was tough with the wind. I did miss quite a few also. They bit on a blue and white tube under a cork. They were up close the bank around the tree stumps and cover.

Very nice, thanks for posting. Now let's see how you prepare them for eating. Pictures please.

wow!!!!!!great going.....

Nice going Todd, you have some good ones there. The Grove is getting hot and I can imagine how many boats will be a Cannon's on Saturday morning. If you're going you'd better leave early. I'll wait until next week to try again.

Nice catch....did any of em have eggs? Looks like all males..
-
Good haul :ThumbsUp.......I was gonna go, but that wind scared me away. I just love watching that little cork tilt and start moving just under the water! Hope this front doesn't mess up the weekend fishing too much....

Are these eggs? Not too sure unless they are big and yellow. About half had this in them.
-
If those are white the are the sperm sacks of male fish. Usually they come from the darker colored males.

Yes Mr. Gene they are white. Must have had all males cause they were all dark colored.
-
When you catch them like that near the bank they are preparing nests. The females are off the bank a ways in deeper water. They swim toward the bank looking for a suitable male and nest and if she is ready she will move over the nest and deposit some of her eggs. The male will deposit his sperm and hang around to protect the young fry. A female will do this several times and not always in the same nest. Tonight's lesson on sac-au-lait. Subject to change by someone more knowledgeable than I.
