My old uncle said "Fish bite before a front, and clam up right after".
Beats me. I figure the best time to go is when you get the chance to go.
Fish do not eat for 3 days after every front. They eat very rarely in the summer and sometimes in the winter, but they feed mostly in the spring unless a front passes through.
i dont think this front will affect them at all
Dude, I'm gonna start send RCC a text before I go fishing just to check and see if they are biting or not. :Rofl
And you know what I'll say..."Fish bite everyday if you put a minner on their nose. Sometimes if the weather changes a crappie nose may be a little harder to find"
Dude, they are predators with no way to be guaranteed 3 squares a day. They do 2 things. Eat and spawn...it ain't spawning time yet so they're eating without no distraction. Go getcha some.:biggrin
This is exactly why I quit fishing in July and start back in late February. Why bother if it's not CRAPPIE SEASON!! :Rofl
I'm with Greg on this one, I don't think the front will hurt them much. Now that one coming Saturday night might curl their lip for a couple of hours!
Only thing out there is water air and opportunity!!! Other than that it falls into your own hands I don't sit around and wait for that fish to get hungry and come looking for a hook ... Make your own luck I will force feed that fish a jig if I have to
I also agree with Greg.....more variables then just a small front come into play on a fish bite. Clear blue sky's, water temp and depth are always more important when weather changes. The biggest mistake most make is they tie their favorite lure on and expect the same activity and keep fishing the same way. You must be willing to change strategy. color and tactics to find fish. If crappie are there they will bite......on what? how deep? what c
color and so on.....
I like that Kayak......just get after em!
I agree, when you get a chance to go, go. But I have caught before and during a major change be it water fluctuation, temp fluction, or a heavy storm. It is usually slow for two or three days behind that.
during can be a blast sometimes......after is always bad when air pressure is bouncing around. Major fronts away bring major air pressure changes and sometimes no matter what you do you just enjoy nature cause it sure beats workin though :Rofl
Deep in here. Fronts, wind direction, pressure, etc.. All impact crappie... Just not sure exactly how..
Good theories on this post, some make sense
Well im gonna give em a shot tomorros at conway. Saw some schools on my graph but figured it was prolly just shad. Tried jiggin em but couldnt sit still with the wind. Tried also around some brush piles i found. Couldnt get a bite to save my life. Idk how them guys are catchin em but im gonna try it all tomorrow. Wish me luck
I say fish any chance you get. Always opportunity to learn
