hard here to right now, should start picking up any day though
Same here but I quit a 11. It's hard to fish that long without even a throw back or two.
Right there with ya I fished from 8 til 3:30 only got three bites. Talked to several people and no one caught a fish and a few didnt get any bites either. Water temp where i was fishing was 40.8 when I left, might be a few more days:(
Thanks for the reports Guys.
I think y'all are doing something wrong. I know a couple different folks who have done good in the last couple days including myself.
I cant speak for anyone else but I saw my good friends box of fish from yesterday and I would take them any day.
It's a tough lake to fish sometimes. Who knows, I may have gotten lucky. But they're there and biting, fellas. Just stay after em.
I didn't see a fish get caught where I was fishing and in years past on a mild February day and no wind I could usually have my limit and be back at the ramp before lunch. I sure wish someone who done good the last couple of days would chime in and give a report on a pattern or something.
Minner that would be nice and pictures.
I ain't got no pics but I caught decent trolling in about 8 ft of water. Fish suspended just off the bottom. I'll be out there tomorrow and all weekend. I'll get some pics of these trips for y'all. Hell if anyone would like to team up an help me find a good limit together I'm all for it.
Sorry meant to put 6 fow
Appreciate it. It will be Thursday before I get to go back. Maybe I was too deep.
Who knows man. I may have accidentally caught them shallow on a good day. I'll have a better report for y'all tomorrow. Hopefully I can keep the boat still enough lol
I've fished the foot for over 35 years and have always caught fish in february. Don't know what i'm doing wrong fishing same way I have in the past just couldn't find em. I fish from five foot all the way out to thirteen foot, just goin by the guys I talked to and the guys fishing where I was no one was catching. Glad you got on em at least someone caught some. Wind is gonna be tough tomorrow SW @ 15 be careful out there and good luck:)
WOW I would have never thought to look for them in 6 fow this early. I never got any shallower than 12 fow
Don't worry brother, they weren't there today. Caught a few but not enough to talk about. I must have caught them on a good day or something. On my way home now.
A friend on mine was catching them suspended 18 inches deep in 4 FOW Weds. in one of the local TWRA lakes here in W Tn. All I can figure was they were trying to warm themselves in the bright sunshine we were having then.
That would be my guess. Maybe the shad moved up on the warm sunny day and the specks followed? Who knows. But they sure weren't in the same place I found them earlier in the week. I put in at Kirby. I'll be headed back out to deep water tomorrow. Sure wish we could get a pattern on them.
Wondered how the wind was on the foot today, just the forecasted wind was enough to keep me home. Son in law borrowed my lil ten foot to carry decoys in during duck season brought it back a mess, at least I got it all cleaned up and ready to hit my honey holes on windy days. Man I sure wish they would turn on at the lake though, cant be long now.
they wernt there today either! out of about 35 boats around me this am. I heard of 1 fish being caught. blue basin wasn't good to me today !!
Hit local Lake Graham today for only my 3rd trip this year. Needless to say I am fishless for 2014. Tried for both crappie and bass for 6 hours in anywhere from 3 to 30 FOW and not a single nibble:dono It was awful nice though to just get out of the house and back onto the water and feel warm sunshine for a change!
I was out by green island today. No good for us as well. I had one hookup and he threw the hook at the boat. Must not have set it hard enough considering I thought it was a stump.
Heard the wind was pretty tough today at the foot. I fished a private lake in dyer co. today with a buddy, caught a nine inch black nose (short fish) and only managed to box three keepers in about four hrs of fishing. Wind was tough there also:( Didn't have enough for a mess so we gave them to a couple guys from missouri that had four keepers.
