Check each system for parts availability seems they need seals replaced on occasion. Mike you might go to BassBoat central. Might be some threads on it over there.
Used seastar twice so far. No complaints. Never replaced a seal. Friend of mine had to once though. But he only uses his boat 4 or 5 times a year, I use mine a lot.
Bay Star--Up to 150hp. This what Xpress uses on the 150's.
SeaStar---150hp and up. Multiple engine boats use this one.
Uflex- is what Xpress uses on single engines over 150HP engines.
If you install one yourself, bring it over with the hydraulic fluid that comes with the system and I'll put the Teleflex purge machine on it for ya to make sure it's 100% air free and bled correctly---No Charge. :)
I installed a Bay Star system on my Alweld. Pretty easy install. I'd take BRM up on the purge offer, that's a pita.
I use the u-grab . every time I am ready to go "I grab" the tiller !Attachment 151361
I want that vise. :)
that's a family heirloom . was on a potato farm at Vardaman ,MS. along with this one . The stand is made from caterpillar parts . they were to be sold as scrap and I rescued them for yard art as a gift to my mother-in-law . You would have to kill her to get them !---------- hey I just got an idea ! Attachment 151371Attachment 151372
BRM, I have a 2013 HD20 with a 200 SHO. I bought in Baton Rouge in august 2012 and was supposed to be the first labled 2013. I had ordered it special, since I wanted carpeted decks and sprayed in floor, but the steering was installed by Xpress and is Seastar.Did they change since? I did use baystar on a duracraft with a 90 Merc Optimax, not seastar like I thought when I mentioned it in an earlier note. No problems with either.
I had the seastar on a 115hp motor. The system was a little low when I got it and the wanted $38.00 a gt for the oil for it. Checked and it said you could use Dexton ATF if you could not get that it called for. I put ATF in it and never had a leak. Can say anything about the others but I would have it again. :highfive
Teleflex and Uflex are both good units. The Teleflex has connecting hardware for Multi engines. Not sure if Uflex does.
Again not sure, but I THINK (I don't know) the Dextron ATF is non detergent that's why you can use it. If they recommend it, Just Do It!!!! ;)
We use the Teleflex fluid. That 38.00 must have included putting it in and purging the system, and checking for leaks if was low.
They are nice no torque when accelerating
Here ya go KD. http://www.bbcboards.net/miscellaneo...ring-sale.html
No torque is nice but I like the No Feedback. The helm has to turn the engine. The engine cannot turn the helm.
Don't buy a used one. Why did that guy have to upgrade his IF it was working? :)
Yeah--I saw that one Wilbur tks--new only for me--especially at that price.
