I see why Sears had to merge with K-Mart. You ship 1- 12' 2 piece rod in a box this size by UPS.The other 4 rods I ordered are coming in a separate shipment. GO FIGURE!! This box has to be 7'x1 1/2'x6". Free shipping to me!

Big as that box is they could have put them all in it!
That could make KD a nice club house.
I had to call Sears 800# to find out why the invoice has 5 poles listed and they only shipped 1.The rest are coming in another shipment.Don't they know what a shipping tube looks like??:dono
What kinda pole you get from sears???
Just some cheap West Points. Someone stole my others a few days ago out of my boat!Gonna check out some other poles Scott told me about at Grizzly Jig!
Lord a mercy, I didn't even know you could still get stuff from Sears, especially fishing gear. I'm with you though haven't they ever heard of a shipping tube?
I've caught a many a fish with them West Point Crappie Poles. That's all we had back in the Crappiethon days. The 12'ers were the bomb back then!!!!!
Not sure but think Sears and some others are like Amazon. They offer things for sale, you order from them then they source from another vendor who actually ships to you. Walmart does the same thing. Most of these items are only available on the net.
Never knew Sears still had fishing equipment.
I've had several of those old Ted Williams boat motors over the years. I still see one every once in a while.
ScottV does Tanks in Philadelphia have those rods u are talking about.
If you can find some old tackle and equipment from Sears.
They carried a lot of different brand products until the Sears brand was started. The Sears brand was replaced with J C Higgins until about '62/'63/'64 when it went to Ted Williams brand.
You could get the big catalog or specialty catalogs like Farm n Ranch, Hunting n Fishing that had more products in them.
Yea, that's where I got mine. I've been using the 12' FireCast poles at Okatibbee for several years. Never have broken one. I just got 2 more of the 14' poles last week to use when fishing shallower than I do at Okatibbee. They are cheaper than the replacement tips of the PSTs I keep breaking.
I hunted many a rabbit with a J.C Higgins bolt action 410 single shot. Wish I still had it. Seems like a box of shells were around $2.85 back then.Could have been a little higher.
Boar, I have a old JC Higgins 5 shot bolt action 30/30
WOW. You know there are a lot of things around now that I wish had never replaced the stuff we had when we were younger. The older stuff was I believe better made and lasted longer than the same stuff now that you have to care for even more. The stuff back then was made to use an use hard.
Everything now is built with Planned Obsolescence. The manufacturers don't want products to last as long as they used to because they can sell you another one when it breaks.
True dat
