...is that we're under a winter storm watch until Tuesday. The good news is that the weatherman is predicting a run of 60 degree days afterwards. Reckon that'll be enough to get 'em stirring? Also, do these longer days do anything to motivate the feeshes?
Yes....the added length to daylight hours triggers the pituitary gland and that along with water temp gets the process going.

I remember reading that it was the length of the daylight more than the temp that triggered the spawn. Also was told that is what tells hummingbirds it is time to fly south. It is the shortening of daylight hours that sends them south. That debunked the myth that you should not feed them in the fall or they will stay too long and freeze.
Guess the good Lord made them smart enough to not pay attention to us.
