So lately I have been hit with the fishing bug. After moving away from my home town and starting a family I lost all of my fishing buddies. So who wants to go fishing around the north east?

Be careful with that Dyabolical. Same thing happened to me when we started our family until 5 kids and 30 years later I realized that I lost not only my fishing buddies but even worse my fishing skills which several of your new c.c friends will be quick to testify to dang it. At least I did get a few of my old buddies back and some new ones thru this forum so welcome aboard. I'm sure you'll like it here.
Welcome to the board Dyabolical. Starting a family is a great thing. Means you have a lifelong fishing buddy/buddies!!!! I found the best fishing buddy one could ever ask for 5 years ago when I had my daughter.

Your so right swollen mine is 22 and he is alright till he out fishes me and then he rubs it in real good lol
Good times and great pictures swollencrappie. My girl is 3.5 years old and my boy is 1. Had to take some time off from fishing to take care of kids while they are/were babies but looking forward to the pay off when we can all go fishing.
Maybe my favorite crappie picture ever SC! Thanks for sharing it with us- and did she catch that fish on a jig? Wow!
Swollen, what fishing dock is that in the picture, is it public?
HotRod2..that is the fish house at Lake Carl Blackwell. It is a public dock, but it requires a $5.00 vehicle park pass to get to it. it has been a hot topic on the forum this winter. Thousands of crappie have found their way into a bucket or basket this winter from there.
Welcome to the bait tank or forum as some of us call it. Feel free to jump in anywhere and get your feet wet. I am in the Tulsa area and more or less where you see me at you will probably see an old lazy dog by the name of CrappiePappa also. LOL. Looking forward to sharing some water together one of these days.
Stay safe and tight lines,
Bobo
Thanks alot for the info. I live in Claremore but I will have to make the trip sometime to wet a hook.
Took a trip out to Indian hills this morning. No luck but I still had a good time.
I am a father of three, and my oldest is 7 but he has a very short attention span. Hopefully I can teach him the virtue of patience.
Welcome to the forum, we've got a big group of great folks on here. Holler if you get a chance to fish Oologah, maybe I can help a little.
Welcome to the forum.
Crappie Whisperer im fairly new to Claremore and have been fishin mostly in the redbud boat slips on Oolagah. I have had my boat on the water a few times but mostly for blue cats. I may holler at you sometime and get a few tips on catchin crappie out on the lake. I went by the slips yesterday and one guy was walking up the steps and said the ice was about six inches thick. We also stopped by the Claremore dock around 2:00 and nothing was going on at all.
Welcome to the board Hotrod.

WElcome to the family CrappieKey6.
Are you going to be using jigs or minnows at Blackwell?
Bobo
Welcome to the zoo CrappieKey. You will find lots of tips on Carl Blackwell on the forums Carl Blackwell threads but more importantly watch the guys at the dock and ask questions. It's hard to find an old guy who doesn't like to give advice.

Come join the gaggle. We need someone reporting from Canton Lake! Looking forward to hearing from you. Let us know about your run to Blackwell.
Welcome to the forum, check out some of the Ok Fishing Camps, they should be a great place to meet others!
Winter camp is only a month away.
Also, a bunch are meeting for breakfast this Saturday morning in NW OKC.
