The Ozarks are a little stiffer and have more backbone.
What G said. Sensitivity is about the same with a little more backbone. I would venture to say an ultra lite compared to a lite action. You know you have a hook up on ozarks;). If you want to try fishing with one before you buy, give me a shout. You are more than welcome.
Thanks for the inf and offer yesterday at the river the ultra lite out fished the regular best 3 to 1 it is way more sensitive. I like the regular best for fishing in brush because of the backbone it has but the ultra lite is better to me for trolling when bites are lite.
For Spider rig slow trolling.....I use 14 ft. BnM Capps and Colemans.....very sensitive , I don't miss as many bites with them as I did with other poles like Ozarks and PST's
I use 16 and 14 ozarks for spider rigging. Never had an issue missing strikes. If I'm single poling I use the bnm ultralight with a twist. They are custom made lowers by bobby Phillips at the honey hole. Ozarks are tough and built to last. The titanium tips make knocking that jig off brush real easy without worrying about breaking the tip off.
I agree with blue thunder. I have both. Both are good poles but the Ozark is better for single pole fishing in brush tops. That tip is nice when you are poking jigs out of tops.
Ha ha....BT, you are watching your rod tips with 38 year old eyes.....I am a geezer and trying to watch mine with 69 year old eyes lol.....that's why I like the C and C's better.....the tips move more. Oh yeh I use high vis yellow line too so I can see the line move. I do use a Ozark rear seat jig pole though to single pole with though. Its all good.
I hope to be watching rod tips with 69 year old eyes one day. You've probably forgotten more about this great sport than I will ever know. Both rod companies make a good product. It's kinda like ford or Chevy, personal preference.
I just wish it was both rod companies lol.....I got so many sets of different rods you would think I had a store lol.....its part of that addiction that Tal speaks of lol. I got a new BnM Duck Commander double touch jig pole to try out now.
BT were can I get a ozark at around Monroe?

I know a guy LOL!
i'm with G--like the Capps and Coleman--I'm more of a fan of the very sensitive versus stiff with just a light tip--but that's just me.
How does sensitivity mater when Spider rig slow trolling?:dono I've only spidder fished once with PPG at Dar Bone.
thensitive rod tips move more???
I have only used the bnm ultralights and the regular bnm's and I agree with everything that has been said so far. The ultralights have worked great for me. Would like to try the ozarks one day b/c I have broke a coulple of my bnm ultralights before.
Duck Commander's line of BnM Poles are hard to beat. A well thought out pole applying the "Depth Monitor Wraps." They launched this past weekend at their event at BPS. Personally I've not fished with anything better.

I was lucky enough to be given a (DCDT) Duck Commander Double Touch rod at our Toledo Bend gathering. Yesterday was the first day it was used, but not by I. The wife got a hold to it and wouldn't let go. I'll have to wait on another trip to give it a try. She said it was great. I have it paired off with a Solo so1 reel.
