Glad I saved my money!!!! I stopped by last night and got in free. It's a joke!!! They wanted me to pony up 3500 for some space, and I told em I wanted to see how it went the first year. WhoooHooooo. I got 3500 extra to blow on fishin tackle!!!!! :-)
The Memphis Boat Show starts next Friday afternoon thru Sunday!!! Hope to see y'all there, Except you FJ fishermen who'll be at Washington. Maybe y'all can come out Sunday. Call me for a pass.
Ain't got but 4 boat dealers, 1 tackle stand and a trout pond or something. Might be selling some floating thingamajig in the water pool instead of trout. Tackle guy wasn't even set up at 7:30 last night. One of my boat dealer friends from Pickwick said they only sold 30 tickets at the door all day yesterday. My friends are selling the 100k ski boats there.
I don't see them moving many of them boats with the folks around here! Ha
Cabin fever and academy sports almost made me go . Glad I did not . Thought I might splurge this year and get me a" COUPLE OF NEW CORKS ."Yes I said corks , we aint got no bobbers in Mississippi !:biggrin
Well, I guess the wife and I are going to throw away 18 bucks. Supposed to meet some friends there at 3pm today. Sounds like it will be an early dinner afterwards.
Before corks, they were stoppers.
Bill, is the Memphis show going to be any better for Tackle dealers?
Glad I saw this. Was just about to go.
" COUPLE OF NEW CORKS ."Yes I said corks
Can you post a picture or link of what you're looking for.
Tupelo has a boat and camper show Feb 21,22,23. It was pretty good last year, $6 admission.
Used to go all the time to sports shows. Now I can't see paying 9 bucks to go look at 60000 dollar boats. Back in the day I would buy a lure or 20 but now see few deals there. Liked the bass boat full of strike king spinnerbaits for a buck or maybe .50 back in the day. No more of that. Most stuff I can get off amazon cheaper.
That's right on the safety pins.....but my Mother soon bought me some hooks.....no bait shops or tackle stores back then......had to go to the hardware store which was downtown on main street with the rest of the stores to buy hooks. Had a lot of fun catching fish with that cane pole.
five and dime in my day, prolly half/penny and penny in your day huh G????:Rofl
remember the good times down town, lot of that gone these days and its a sad thing.
John......cokes were 6 cents
Dont remember that, dime cokes for me, man that old coke box could get them things cold, bag a peanuts over in it sho was good too, still do that all along but just aint the same.
Getting an occasional coke from the country store was big stuff for us in the 60's. John you are right, them little bottles were cold and burned my nose.
