Were those still hot when you took the pic?
No they were cooling.
Use a white base coat.
Haven't been using a base coat this the 1st time this have happen.
Heads may have been too hot when they were dipped which let powder flow off the edges. I find less is better and get more uniform coating with cooler jigs. White undercoat helps as well. Pinks are usually dense enough colors to coat w/o undercoating but undercoating makes colors "pop"
I had some that looked like that the other day, they looked great after they cooled
No need to paint... More for angler than the fish. Took me 20 years to learn that..

Might the heads not be hot enough? Not enough paint on the heads might be part of it, thin coverage. I don't know what your heat source is but you might experiment with that some.

They appear to be too cool when dipped or were not in the paint long enough. You lose a lot of heat on small jigs when transferring from an oven to the paint. I use a small oven on the bench, heating the jigs in a tray, remove and dip with needle nose pliers. I have to overheat the smaller jigs to compensate for the heat lost in the pick up and movement process.Quote:

Taking the time to grip by the eye slows down the movement from heat to paint. The longer the time from heat to paint, the smaller the jig the greater the heat has to be to start with so it bonds the paint sufficiently. Experiment with heat and movement time.
I use those colors also.

No I dip and clean the eyes before baking I will try some more.
Might want to check your mold for oil. I had this happen after I oiled the hinges. I also had a batch of lightwire hooks that had a lot of oil on the hooks and it would migrate to the outside edges. I cleaned the mold and hooks with brake cleaner and no more issues with that mold or hooks.
Yep that might be it I did oil the mold before I poured .
I started out heating my jigs in the oven first before dipping and I'm really glad I went to the heat gun!!! Much better control for me.
I think it was the oil I sprayed on the hinges. Cause it haven'

Its all about the right heat my guess is the jigheads weren't hot enough an left in the paint long enough when dipped.
