nice story, paw paw
That says volumes pawpaw Gene. Though I have not met nary a single member on this site, Partially to being fairly new and part due to some health issues I've had to deal with, I too feel like through the posts, I have met some very close friends. Hopefully this is the year I can make some of the get togethers, and actually meet some of the nicest people there are around any where. Thanks everyone.
Excellent post Gene. I'm noticing the progression of my desires, namely the sense of urgency that kept me going at full tilt. I used t be unable to sleep before a trip the excitement was so high. Beautiful boat and a top notch Daughter.
That's pretty awesome Gene....speaks well of you and Linda....
BTW...who is that young man in the green shirt with the brown hair.....
That was an excellent read with feelings/thoughts wrote in way that many of can relate to. Really enjoyed it.

We'll done read, thanks for posting.
Now, that was worth while reading. Couldn't have said it any better myself. You speak for a number of like minded folks here. Thank You!
Nice boat too, congratulations.
A very thoughtful story that relates to those of us in the 6, 7, and 8th decade of life. I'm pushing the 8th. You are so right about the folks you meet on CDC. I'm especially grateful for those in Louisiana who shared with me to help make a visit to Bayou Corne a couple of years ago so enjoyable. I'm still trying to figure a way to do it again.
Gene, you are blessed. Your friend, Danny
In the story on this page about Toledo Bend picture by Mrs. Prefers Shiners, the guy in the white hat is PawPaw.
Very good story thanks I needed that
:ThumbsUp
Great story PawPaw
Very nice read brother. Your story speaks volumes about the natural order of things and how long it often takes us to to separate ourselves from the rush and daily hassles of life and finally get to a place where our priorities can be in the right order... that's to relax and enjoy family, friends and God's awesome creation at our own pace.
great read
Awesome!
Thanks for sharin a great story !!
Good stuff. Makes me "feel good".
Awesome post Gene. When i was in the United States Navy, the finest in the world, in 81 @ the tender age of 18, an older old salt told me, "Son your way of thinking about things will change around every 10 years." I know I must have thought he was crazy. And here i am, 33 years later, seeing it happen! HA LOL. My big thing on a fishing trip is "Where are we going to eat @"? Wonderful family and great looking boat!
Pawpaw Gene I can relate to your story, I think I am still stuck in that 0-1 year fishing fresh water even though it has been 3 years since I started. Great read hope to see you out there.
Very nice article. Puts things in perspective very nicely.
Your story really is very telling of a wonderful life, a wondeful family and a deep love of life and fishing.
Thanks all my friends for the comments, it make a heart feel good to know that others can identify with me.

Great article!! Sometimes we all need to step back and enjoy the moment and not take it for granite.
Great read, puts lots of things in perspective. Thank you for sharing.
I enjoyed reading your story so much. As I was reading I found myself saying Yep a lot. You have put into words what many of us quietly feel as time passes to quickly but rarely put to words.
Thanks for sharing.
