Learned yesterday that fluorocarbon line doesn't get along with iced up guides. Lost 3 good fish before I could net them yesterday. Any opinions?

Braid! !!!!!!
Try spraying your line with Pam. Seems to prevent a lot of icing.
Braid and WD-40!!
definitely wouldnt go with braid when jig fishing!!!! jmo!!!
I never have trouble with Berkly Vanish Flourocarbon line. nonono How was you losing the fish ?:scratchhead I seldom use a net either.:twocents
I use 8 lb Berkly Vanish Flourocarbon on 11' Ozarks forward seat and ask Bowhunter what he has seen. Gar 4.5 feet long , large German Carp , and 23 lb Drum landed on it. I will swing small fish (2 lbers ) in with no net. You need to check eyes to see one is not cracked causing abrasion or when did you change it last ? What line and weight are you using anyhow ?
Thanks for info guys. I spooled with Berkeley fluoro I'll try the Visious. Haven't been using these rods long, love them I guess I'm still learning their limits.
It was 8lb nimrod, bought it last year when we fishing deep water at Dardnelle . Took braid off for conway because of all the pressure the fish were under in cove. Trying to get an edge on fish:)
Not say'n it is why but have seen others keep line in hot sun which weakens line. I change mine several times a year.
I use braid with a flourocarbon leader. No problems yet.
I change my line often on single poles or spinning reels. Braid for me otherwise. Nimble sure can catch and land them other type of feesh on his line for sure. Video tape several in past of him in battle lol.
A few examples what a Ozark rod and 8 lb test Berkley Vanish Flourocarbon line can handle.

I'm convinced, them toothy critters are hard enough to land with heavy braid. Makes me feel good about my Ozark rods too:)
Picture #1 was NOT taken today!
(I have a keen sense of the obvious....I'm told). :Rofl
JUst curious what lb test you were using.?
It was 8lb cp
