Anyone done any crappie fishing/camping at Castaic? Was going to give it a try in late April. New to this whole targeting crappie thing so any advice is welcome! Thanks in advance.

No not me sorry
before i was into crappie fishin i used to see guys catchin them in the lower lake at night off the dock.
Cool thanks, I'll have to give it a try
Thanks, I'll have to check it out. There enough water down there to put a canoe in? Up here in the northern part of the state they're closing down a lot of the boating of any kind.
night fishing docks is good every where put some lights out
[QUOTE=danwalleye;2633343]night fishing docks is good every where put some lights out[/Q tried it,didn't work, some years in harsh conditions crappies will absorb their eggs and not spawn,,the lagoon is tuff, they caught a 22lb striper,at the float tube derby, stripers and crappie don't get along,I'm not giving up ,,
Hey Dan ,man I wish we n
had some walleyed here I miss em,,
Man, the water here is incredibly low, getting skunked so far, we'll see how much longer I can talk the Gf into staying out fishing.
Caught a few, its tough now,, going today
Have any luck this time around?
Ive never seen any consistent crappie come out of castaic or the lagoon, your much better off going to piru, 1000X better for crappie. When i used to throw crappie jig ther all i caught were tons of bass.
Don't be fooled there are a lot of huge crappies in that lagoon,,they are hard to access without some kind of boat but they are there
