Now that the ice is gone
Read a recent post about how the fishing heats up after a thaw. They were right:ThumbsUp. Went out this afternoon till dark and was rewarded with a limit. Biggest one was 13 3/4", nothing under 10 1/2". Most averaged 11 1/2". Did all this out of the yak. Spider rigged 5 poles all with minnows. Looks like the females are starting to get fat with roe. Attachment 150008. Thanks for taking this pic Pete, good to see you and Donnie tearing them up too.

Nice work. Great stringer. Thanks for the post.

That's the way to wear them out, Woody! I'm looking forward to exploring some down-river spots next week.

Impressive when is dinner?
-
Nice job once again. You are killing them with the Yak. Nice fishing machine.

You are a beast in the yak! Only to the extent that you care to share, were you fishing closer to the dam? I presume so unless you paddled down to the oxbows and hit the boathouses...thanks for info and great report.

I've paddled as far as the last boathouse before the second curve. All of that water is good from the dam to there. That is all that I can handle in the yak. Theres also good fishing downstream but I rarely go there even in my 16' jon. This particular trip I fished between the 2 big boathouses. Tomorrow they might be hugging the dam.:dono
