to meeting everyone.
On a side note.......wiskers, you must know people from all over.
Me and CrappiePappy drove down to the Paintsville Fishing tackle swap meet today. More about bass fishing than crappie, but still was a good event. Did get some of GrouseFly's jigs which looked pretty good, can't wait to try them. Pappy did win a hat, to go with his already large collection. Anyway, a fella at a booth saw our crappie.com shirts we had on and asked if we new a guy called wiskers on here. We said we sure did. Well, he said he had a order of yours and that you were suppose to picked them up today. We said, if he ordered them, we 're sure he will come and get it................................................ .................................................. .....................

We asked what he had ordered and the fella said, all these reels on this table............................me and Pappy looked at each other, turned and walked away.............................................. .......................................

Sorry Terry.............Pappy made me do it :Rofl.
Where is the weigh in. Just hearing about the tournament so a little behind. Sorry, I just put the bows and guns up and dusting off the poles.
That's a lot of Zebcos.
Jigboy ... the ink isn't quite dry on all the plans, but the weigh-in site will be Kenlake Marina. You can launch from anywhere else, if you wish ... but, entry fees need to be paid in advance if you do decide to launch from another ramp.
And actually, the only "plan" that is not quite finalized ... is the cutoff time to be in the weigh-in line. You can only fish from 730AM - 3PM ... local time. We're considering extending the time you have to be in line for weigh-in, from 330PM to 4PM, due to the consideration of the lakes being so large, and the possibility of people fishing/launching from areas far away from Kenlake ramp. There will be a finalized posting in the coming weeks, so keep checking back.

What tournament are we talking about and what are legal waters. Can you fish Barkley?
KY Crappie.com Fruit Jar Tournaments ... (see stickie threads at top of page)
Legal Waters, in this instance, refer to both KY Lake & Barkley Lake waters that are within the legal fishing boundaries of the state of Kentucky. In other words, any part of the lakes that you can legally fish with a KY fishing license ... be it a resident or non-resident license.

Where yall stay'n at Chucky/CP?
We are staying at Aurora's Kentucky Lake Cottages. Used to be called Ken Oaks. Sits next to the grocery store by Willow pond restaurant. Got us a place close to the weigh in. Staying in cottage #17. Going to try and talk pappy into leaving early Thursday morning, he can finish getting the rest of his beauty sleep on the way down:biggrin.
We are at Aurora's Ky Lake Cottage, in cottage #17. If you are familiar with David's place, the first driveway past the store, next to the pool. Turn in there, you'll go down a little gravel hill, it's the first cottage on the left. The front porch faces the pool. My phone service is a hit and miss when i am down there but i can always get texts. Phone 859-509-4126. We will be down That Thursday 13th till Sunday 16th.
I'm getting in on this one. I'm glad I came across this post. I fish a lot down in that area. Will be glad to meet some of you guys.
OK so I'm confused. So you can only fish inside the state of KY on KY and Barkely or can you go south into Tenn. Is it the same astTourney other rules such as long as you can get there by boat? I was just wondering if you can fish Big Sandy or Birdsong
Only waters within the confines of KY & the reciprocal waters shared with Tenn. is the way we set it up. (ie - whatever waters you can fish with a KY license, resident or non-resident, which I believe is all waters North of the US79/Hwy 76 bridge). That's why we picked Kenlake as the weigh-in site, because it's more or less halfway between the dam & that bridge.
You can fish Barkley Lake, within the confines of KY... all the way to the Ky/Tenn border.
You cannot fish any of the land locked "lakes/ponds" ... such as Energy Lake.

Im going to do some tent camping at this one. I do a lot of camping down there. Wish I had a place down there. Will somebody post where I need to send my entry fee. These friendly small tournaments are a lot of fun. Ive been in a few small catfish tournaments up here on the river and there always a lot of fun. Ill be putting in at another ramp so wont get to meet anybody until the weigh in but, I cant wait. I love to crappie fish. Me and a buddy came down a few weeks ago and didn't catch one crappie just some yellow bass. However, they will be biting there during this tournament at least I can have wishful thinking!
Contact Chucky by PM or call his cell (see post #19 in this thread) for mailing address to send entry fees.
See the sticky threads at the top of this forum, for rules & regs. ... but, also keep an eye on this forum for any possible changes or updates.

If I'm not mistaken you can camp in any of the lbl campgrounds that don't have resident attendants year round as long as you have a back country camping permit. We camped in a couple different ones during this past duck season and last year stayed at sugar bay in feb
