We plan on going early. Any idea what color and depth they have been biting?
Haven't fished it in better than a month but I would guess since your going early 20-25 fow, dark head with chart tail, sivler pink or white body. It' will change for sure but thats a pretty good color down there. also pink.
Talking about Fountainhead?
Has anybody done any good at Belle Starr?

LOL there are three guys that will fit that description down there tomorrow then but I know who the other 2 are. I'll have my blue and gray jig bag and a white bucket with me and will be in overalls with a camo cap on. I pretty much only fish the outside on the north. Hope to see ya there.Quote:

Well, went to Eufaula Marina. Got there about 5:00 am. Dogs woke me up at 1:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. The norther came thru about 11:00 last night and the bite went cold. Nothin but dinks. Met Longan089. Nice guy. Pitched CDC to a guy down there. Wasn't a wasted day. At least we got to fish today.
Like pappa said. Fished dock today. Only caught 4 small ones. Met some nice guys and picked up some good info. Thanks pappa for the insight. Let me know next time you head down that way. Maybe the bite will be better next time!
Thinking about heading back down to eufaula cove heated dock this Saturday. Anyone else gonna be there? Let me know. I would like to meet as many of u guys on here as possible.
I'll be going but don't know which day. I scheduled Friday off work for a vacation day. If we stay moist in the next couple days I have some brush I need to burn from the ice storm but then I'm free for the weekend, well sorta. I'll let you know as we get closer.
I'm also thinking about going to Carl Blackwell. You interested longan?

Pappa is the Carl Blackwell dock heated? And how big of a dock is it?
Sorta small. There are a couple of heaters in there but I've never felt anything warm out of them.

Well, yes and no. It has a couple of heaters but they only blow cold air. It can get mighty chilly in there. The well is SMALL inside. If there are 8 guys in there, you become buddies or enemies pretty quick. There is fishing all around it on the outside, which is we I hunt. It's about the size of Claremore.Quote:

Haven't fished it but once this year Scott. Caught 6 or 8 dinks. I don't think it's hot like last year. Haven't fished Molly Browns all year either.
Is fountain head open or under water
I was up there on the 1st and the 6th. I posted results on the Carl Blackwell threader. It hasn't been great, but you can catch some fish, although a big one is a 12 incher, and most are 10 or less. It hasn't been nearly as crowded as the last 3 years, so you won't need body armor. Pappa is right about how it is when you have a lot of people on the dock, but most people are OK with fishing shoulder to shoulder.Quote:

The water visibility at CB was near zero. Black/pink and black/green have worked best, either hair jigs or BGs. Slab Slobber or niblets seem to help, and the technique is dead sticking, then moving s l o w l y sideways and back.
