I have some clear coat left over from doing the kitchen floors at the old house. Can I use it to coat the table I just got done with? What SHOULD you use?

Sammy and I like the Min-Wax rub on poly......three coats and rub with fine steel wool between coats.....nice satin finish
Thanks G. Wasn't sure what I needed to use
Just stain it the color you want then wait 24 hrs. And put the rub on poly on it....let dry between coats and lightly rub it down with fine steel wool between coats. Just rub the poly on with a rag.....easy to do and looks great.
I use to some finish called gym coat they use on gym floors, put on some tables and chairs still looks good and takes a beating
You probably need to do it the same as the tv stand you built. That way they'll match.
Haven't stained the TV Stand yet. Need to take it outside, fill in the holes where I drilled the screws in, then sand and stain. I have enough stain to do it. That's been my plan all along ATM. Just been busy with the pup. Thanks Jim, I'm kinda thinking the same poly I used on the kitchen floor at the old house will work great on the tables and TV stand

What finish is it, high gloss, semi-gloss, flat? What finish do you want on the table? If it's the same, go with it.
I like the hand rubbed finish too.
Don if you want a hard shinny finish that floor sealer will work great. That finish G is talking about is really nice also but you already got the other.
DonDon, have you ever made a primitive "farm house" dinner table? I'm looking for any ideas on one.
Like G said the rub on is beautiful, btw , I done some experimenting with minwax poly, you thin the regular stuff with some lacquer thinner and the same exact results, just a thought DD. don't thin it too much, just enough to where you can wipe it with a good lint free rag or old t shirt. G got me on this and he was right it is a beautiful finish.

Can't remember but think it was Ducker or Slabin made one last year. Pictures in here some where. Might send em a PM. Or maybe someone can remember what thread it was in.
Dang man, that table looks great. I'm probably gonna build one at some point. I like the rustic look of things and it matches out heart of pine walls real good
Those a nice tables. Love the rustic look.
Built one like that years ago for my mother in law Smooth. Done tressle style legs on it with the wedges for tightening everything up. Its still in her dining room. I will try and remember to take a pic or two of it.
