I'm looking for 1-3 simple patterns for a blue gill fly! Or jig. You tried and true! I have a friend who wants me to tie some! I tie a simple black nymph pattern for fly rod! He wants something like a Popeye small weight! I've always did good with black body ( Chenille )and yellow crazy legs the black with yellow strip beetle spin was my all time go to bait!

You can also tie a pheasant tail nymph on a light weight ball head jig - you'll have to tie it on the jig with the hook up so it looks right. Another is a renegade which can be tied dry fly style or on a lightweight jig head.
The best fly I've used for Bluegill is the Griffin's Gnat. Easy to tie for most anyone and very effective, at least on SC waters.
I tied these for a swap a while back. When I was younger (MUCH YOUNGER!) I tore the gills & red ear up on this red & a black version (red ant & black ant).

These were tied on a 1/48oz round head with a #10 sickle hook. I've tied them on a plain hook for fly rod too.
I ain't fishing if I ain't got chartreuse. Nice
Give the Cap Spiders a look, both vertical and horizontal versions.
Easy to tie and they do catch fish.
Here are some I tied for a guy that he came back for more. Pretty simple fly, but you do need some dry fly hackle for the collar.

Now this one is called a Renegade and am sure you can look it up on FAOL or some other fly tying site. I can't remember if I did this one right or not. I think it is. The body is Peacock Herl Chenille and the hackle on both ends is dry fly hackle as it's a dry fly.

I like the ones that are yellow and black they are great.
I don't have pics but a 1/64 jighead with sickle jighook, with fl. yellow and black kiptail just out past the hook a little, and use red thread and leave the head unpainted, we use this color combo for bream, fliers, crappie etc. and vary the size from 1/64 to 1/32 and we always tip with a crappie nibble, color depends on what they want that day, the jig has more black kiptail by volume than fl. yellow, I put the yellow on the bottom when fished under a small float, may require a tiny split shot or two added above the jig if it's windy for throwing purposes, use a small foam cigar float.
If ya haven't messed with kiptail before here are some tips, tie the hair in two bunches, one color each tighten down with the thread, and trim the hair in between the thread and head with one sided razor blade using the lead head as a backstop, then take a toothpick etc, and get a tad of super glue on the end and soak the hair in front of the thread wraps before you finish your threadneck, this way they will really last. the shorter kiptail hair needed for this small jig is usually found towards the butt of the tail.
My buddie and I tear up the Red Breast on the Little river near Vadosta using these two patterns I tie, with a safey pin spinner.
These are 1/16oz but I use a 1/32 also.

Top one is just Black dubbing of some kind and a dry fly hackle, simple as it gets.
Second pic the FL Yellow and Black chenille on a fly bead hook and small bead head. It is possible that the chenille os Fl chart too, but I don't remember. The black ones with pink tails, Gail's can be anything you want. I will get the name of that chenille that I used and the beads are just glass type.
next is just a foam Beatle shaped with fire on the back end and cut front which was not done well IMHO! It has Orange Dry RFLP Hackle or Saddle hackle.
next is the Rennegade and you can get the how to from FAOL. However it's just gold flash coming out the back end wrapped on the hook. Dry fly hackle at each end and peacock herl chenille body.
Next is again peacock herl body and some Dry Fly Hackle, probably Gold or Silver Badger color.
Last is just a foam bug with some chenille like Crystal Flash which makes the legs once you bring the foam over to tie it down.
not sure that is what your looking for, but it's a description of the ties in showed.
