Southaven Supply, Brown's or Hulbert's.
Don't try to rebuild parts, just buy new.
yep
Looks like a toilet seat to me. Is that your shower?
I got faith in you buddy just don't let Melissa road test it first.
No rebuilding needed but the seats I'll have to find at one of those places. They are 5/8 x 20t but not like anything made today. Cleaned out all the chewed up seals that were packed in the diverter and put it back together until I can get seats.
Southaven supply would be better. They can tell you what brand it is too.
Mine had Citation on the handles, they told me they were made by another company, marketed by Citation.
Try Ace hardware They have alot of older parts
Southaven Supply will be the only place if any that will have the seats I need. I've looked at every book and online place there is just to find one that exactly the same and there aren't any. This stuff is so old it was probably a one off anyway and probably hasn't been made in decades. Good thing is once I got the diverter cleared of old chewed up seals from the other valves I can fill the tub up in less than 5 minutes--probably close to 3 minutes. It hasn't run this good since we bought the house. Told the wife I will just keep seals on hand until I can get the proper seats--and told her not to tighten down the hot and cold too much which will help the seals last a little longer.
My other house was built in '69 and sat vacant until I bought it in '73, so I have some old fixtures too. With the 5 of us in the house the seals wouldn't last over 6 months. Seats, a year, diverter about 1 1/2 years. The last trip to Southaven supply I bought a good size bag of handles, stems, diverters, seats and seals. My daughter lives in the house now. The son-in-law wants to replace the fixture, I told him no.
DD, this hardware store is about 15 miles from KDAVID1's house. The staff pretty well know how to help, not like HD and L's. Hardly every find that they don't have what you need. The nearest Ace is out past Mr. Jim's house. A 40 to 50 mile trip for KDAVID1. When I lived in Nashville, Ace was the first place I would go for hardware, mostly having everything I needed. I've been to this one here a few times and haven't found what I'm looking for. If I go to Ace online site, look up an item and locator I find it at the Nashville store but not either of the Memphis stores.
Heck if it was up to me I wouldn't have done a thing--but had the feller that works with Feelay do it--but my father in law insisted he help and give it a shot--I gotta hand it to him--he will get it done if it will save a penny lol
Got the same setup in my FILs old house. Got my stems and seats at Lowes. Comes in a kit. New stem, new seal and new seat.
That's where I got the new valves about 6 years ago--but the seats that come with it aren't the proper one's for my pipes. I suppose the design of the valve was passed on but the pipe work wasn't--not too worried about it--will find some seats. The seats are 5/8 x 20T but they are only about 1/4 inch top to bottom.
There are some jobs that are just worth hiring a professional!!! To me, plumbing is one of those jobs!!! Painting is the other.
had my fill of painting--over 11 years i've ended up painting just the bedroom 4 times, one spare bedroom 3 times, livingroom 3 times, main bathroom 4 times--told the boss--ain't doing it no more!!!
nonono
Wait till she reads your words. You want a little salt when you eat em? Hahaha
I agree one hunnert percent on the plumbing, I don't mind painting at all but man do I hate plumbing. Just got finished with a job and we put all new countertops in kitchen and bathrooms, homeowner pleaded with me to just go ahead and plumb all the new fixtures and drains so he wouldn't have to wait on a plumber, I agreed, against my better judement, will be the last time I agree to any plumbing.
cool--ifn the southaven supply place don't cut it-I'll let you know.
