Looking to buy a set. But not sure which to get. I'm sure both are great rods. Just want some opinions. Mainly b using double minnow rigs. 1/2 oz to 3/4 oz. Curious on action and stiffness. Weight don't matter much. What do u guys think?

I like the B&M Capps & Coleman's better than any of the rods I've owned. I troll eight and have three complete spares and three extra tips. I've never broken one but I'm sure I will. Mine are 122s not 16s.
I like the bgjp 14 best!!!!!
Started with b/m ps but have switched to ozark 14 ft . Pst are fine i ,like you use 1/2-3/4 wts. Manily and a little less stiff tip suits me better .
I won't count out the bgjp rods either. Really wanting to go 16'. Can I ask y u like the 14s better?
The Capps and Coleman rods are kinda a middle of the road in reference to stiffness. The PST's are going to be a very stiff tip rod. My partner and I use the BGJP model in all our tournament fishing. One good thing about BnM is they make a rod model that will fit any style of fishing, from crankbaits to side pulling to single pole style. We generally use 1/2 or less weight when we use a double hook minnow rig. Any of the above mentioned models would be great trolling rods. It just depends on how much bend you want to see in your rod tip while fishing.
I have had the PST's and Ozarks.....I like the ozarks better. Not sure how they compare to the Capps. Unless your fishing out of a smaller boat, I would go 16's the first go around, and you will be satisfied. :twocents
I have a full set of 14' PST's and C&C's also. Prefer the C&C's for durability and seeing the lightest bite. I use my PST's for guiding since they are stiffer and easier for the beginner or novice angler to use.
16' pst
I have a 16 foot set of both models you mentioned and enjoy both. The 16' C&C's take some getting use to and not recommended for beginners because of the action. Also, you may want to make sure your dip net has a long pole if you fish alone very much when using 16's.
I would go with the 14ft or 12ft for starters. The 14 and 16's are much harder to handle than the 12's.
I've got 12s I've fished with for 5 years. I feel like I could handle 16s pretty easy. So would you say the c&c would be the middle action rod. With the bgjp being lighter action and the PST being heavier?
Bgjp is in between capps and psts.
^^^^^^What he said.
I have a set of Capps, a set of BGJP's and a set of the Ozarks. I like em all, but the BGJP has just a bit more spine than the Capps. The tips are similar tho. The Ozark has more spine than the BGJP, about like the PST, but their tip is similar to the Capps or BGJP. The Ozarks are very user friendly for the novice or the more experienced angler. They are a great all around trolling pole and you can push or pull cranks with them also. I power troll jigs with my Ozarks too with a 2 or 3oz weight. Just My .02
My pst poles have been good on lite bite days

MY two cent I use B&m west point for the stiffness 12' keep them low to the water about 6'' work out good.
12 pst. This is 3rd season with them. Pull cranks and push 3oz weights with them. Work good for me. At the speeds I go I don't have the need for light bites. When they hook up you know it.
Well thanks for all the help guys. I think I'm going with the bgjp rods. Something in the middle. Seems to be what I'm after. Thanks for all the fast responses. First class group of guys. Much appreciated
What brm said! !!!
The bgjp are good for seeing a light bight but a net is required to lift a fish more than 1lb in the boat as they dont have the back bone.
I think C&C actually used the BGJP before they came out with their own poles.
Personally haven't had to net the fish with BGJP or C&C--and have caught many over a lb--just swing em in.
Plenty of "backbone" in em.
I'm a big fan of the 16' ozarks. That's all we fish with now. Started with the 14's and graduated up to 16's would go to 18's if they made them in the ozarks
Most of my poles are 16'ers, except I do use the 14's for pushing/pulling cranks and power trolling jigs. The 16's will push/pull also, but I've only used mine for pulling cranks and rigging.
Ordered the bgjp. Got six of em. Delivered to my cousins from grizzlyjig. He seems to like em alot. I won't get to hold one til Friday
Grizzly is first class. Before and after purchase.
