The Sea Ark 186rxv and the G3 1860

Pros: The SA has a 15 deg hull and more storage. The G3 has more deck space, higher sides and a bigger live well.

Cons: the SA is smaller, smaller casting decks and no forward fuel tank.

G3 less storage and a 6 deg hull.

Both have great warranties and are fairly close in price.

I don't plan on fishing tournaments and flying across the lake, just fishing with my girls, doing a little inshore and ICW fishing along with using it to hunt in the fall and winter.

I don't know if the hull angle is that big of a deal for what I want to use it for?

Thoughts?

The deeper the v the better the ride. The 17' & 19' War Eagle Blackhawks have 18 degree hulls.

Same motor on both? I have a hard time believing a SA and G3 are close in price. Shop around on the G3. SA are GREAT boats but Way overpriced.

I can get a G3 for around 19-20k, I got a quote on a SA for 20.6k.

A SA at 20.6 is a good price depending won which motor you are choosing.

70 Yamaha, that is the Camp coloring as well.

The difference in hull makes a world of difference when it gets rough and storage means a lot to me. I'm like ATM if you have a dealer anywhere close that WarEagle sure deserves a look. For the difference in price I'd sure go with a 90 over the 70 on either of those hull's.

What advantages does the 90 have to everyday fishing? This will be my first boat so it is going to be a learning experience.

largest motor the boat you choose will accept is a good way to go. will be even worth more when you decide to sell it...:twocents

the g3 eagle 176 is a;most 18 footlong 17 10 i think and has a ton of storage 2 huge live wells, thedown side is you get wet in really rough water, but if your not fishing when its cold not a big deal. 70 is as big as it takes, it ill run 35 with allummmminnummm prop. also can get it in vinal on th inside

WE has a 12 deg hull on their 860

Have you looked at the 861 Predator?

As to the motor, it's better to go as big as allowed. IMHO no matter how you load the boat it will get up and run without doing all it can do. In every day fishing it won't be working at all and use less fuel and wear less. When things get bad and it's time to go you will also have that to fall back on. Resale is also easier. If you have ever been in a boat that struggled to get on plane you would understand what I say.

I have never had anyone say to me " Wish I had a smaller motor".

Definitely get the 90 on the 1860 it's perfect for it. Will run about 42 with a good hole shot depending on the prop. I would look at the new 2014 g3 bay boat in the 18 it will solve your problem. I am looking at a 20 myself. It has a semi v hull and thicker aluminum and has a spray in tough coat type liner for easy clean up. These boats are built on the old HP hulls G3 had for big horse power. The bay boat has a 95 inch beam with a 71 or 72 bottom. The deluxe 1860 will wet you on a choppy day but otherwise is a good boat.

Thanks for the input, it is hard to pick a boat when there are not any dealers close by. G3 has a good webpage and the boats look great.

I have an 1860CC with a 90 on it. It will run 35 loaded down and 37 with just me in it. I love the boat and have put some serious time in it. The only drawback is that it will beat you to death if the wind is much higher than 10mph. I refuse to take it out midday in the summer due to other boat's wakes.
