Dam, can't even find any wax worms.
I have used Crappie Nibbles under the ice with good results
Thanks Wilbur, I got some gulp waxies that work good too but there is something about the real stuff. I got ahold of a buddy that will take me to a pond only thing is he don't have a license so I have to drive but that not a problem. Wax worm are in just about as much demand as propane, both are in high demand right now.
theres wood lake thats just alittle east of findlay. Its suppose to have crappie,bass,bluegill,etc.... i dont know what the ice thickness is ??? then theres a couple small public ponds on state ground that i remember when i use to bowhunt. the office by bethany use to have maps of the state hunting grounds with the ponds on them? Also i know of the small pond across from that same office near bethany thats back along the archery trail. i believe its called duck pond?
also bowhunter will you let us know what the ice thickness was?
Thanks buddy, all the ponds around the lake are over fished and don't have much in them.
And that's a fact Jack, in this case Tyler
I figured I would shake your tree a little. You don't eat them greezy things do ya?
We make jerky out of em. That's about it haha
Hey Pat, I did a quick Google search and found you can by wax worms a lot of places online. Problem is you have to buy quite a few! Also not sure if you would have to next day ship this time of year to keep them from freezing in the back of some warehouse or truck. Anyway I guess it just depends on how bad you want them. I'm guessing it would coat you around $20 to get a couple hundred overnighted to you.
yeah, my brother in law got 1000 of them little boogers shipped to him and I think I'll go steal me some, thanks. Birdie a lot of those geese are on the south end of the lake close to dark they all gather into the same field on the south side of Rt.16 just east of the salebarn.
Don't believe Woods lake is open for fishing. Last I remember it was being "remodeled" and they were not going to allow fishing for a period of time to allow the fish to grow...believe the last I heard of anything was last year. The main office at the dam has maps of all parking lots and ponds around the lake as well.
