Jig hooks

I'm looking for the large 3/0 - 4/0 black nickel Sickle jig hook in bulk! Possible the small ones as well(8-1)! 500-1,000ct. 65$ per 1000 on eBay but I know there is somewhere cheaper! Any ideas where I can find them?? Thanks for your help!

Out to make more bass jigs like my profile but 100 don't cut it when everybody I fish with ask me for a few! ;)

Some powder and some flat waxed thread and the jigs would be better! We all know what catches mans eyes won't always catch a fish eye though! My crappie fishing mostly consist of catching bait! That little jig I tie will do that for sure!

My closest fly shop is 75miles! Saying this, I don't have access to hands on fly materials! For somebody starting out, I don't know what I need to order online! I have a good idea but would prefer hands on for my first go around! A gift pack from one of you pros would be awesome! ;). Maybe a few simple ties to try to copy and a couple materials labeled to know what to order if I like them! I have basics (buck tail, squirrel, rabbit)! The ones I can get from off the road in another words!

I got the idea for the jig I tie from someone on eBay. Bought a pack of jigs for 1$ on there and matched it! His was craft fur, painted, with good thread!

Willing to pay for somebody to get me started with gift pack! Thanks again guys!!!

Love the swap idea on here! That is a good way to learn for sure! My limited tying will keep me out of them for a little while though!

The swaps are a great way to get ideas of what others are tying. I am in my second swap now. Regardless of you experience or ability, I encourage you to enter these. There are some fantastic tiers that get in these swaps. Then there are guys like me just starting in the hobby. As for materials and their uses, get with skip, snake, Redman, Pepop, and others. Bobo has some good deals as do other merchants on here.

Don't feel too bad, my closest shop is 120 miles at BPS which I don't shop at, LOL! Yes I have had some things bought that I didn't use much, but most was plenty usable. All my shopping since I started has been on line.

Well. If ya consider BPS as a store! More like a rip-off on 90% of there stuff! I prefer the local man and not chain stores myself! And bobo hooking me up with the getting started package! 5 powders and 4 chenille! And he threw in a odd-n-end or two to get me started! Even talked on the phone to see exactly what I needed! I don't think that type of service will come from BPS! Also let's ya know there a few good folks left out there! ;)

Oh personally I can not buy for BPS or Cabela's when it comes to tying materials so I agree they are high. I buy everything wholesale so it's been years since I had to pay retail at all. I buy my chenille from the Mfg on normal stuff and some other stuff I buy from the importer when possible.
Probably been 8 or more years since I bought my stuff retail other than a new alcohol burner that I bought.
